Smartie the penguin!

Childnet recognises the importance of starting conversations about on-line safety as early as possible. Smartie the penguin introduces some key messages to 3 year olds plus.
There are also some pretty cool colouring sheets of Smartie. If you don't have access to a printer we can help with this.

2 weeks of the Summer Holidays are complete and we have had lots of fun! The children's interests have been at the soul of all of the activities that they have been doing.

Turning a plain old cardboard box into their own digger, using gross motor movements to paint it and then their imagination was in full swing becoming builders and creating a building site. They counted as they scooped the sand, worked together as a team and practised important sharing and turn taking skills.

The Mice had been dinosaur crazy - making their own fossils, painting with dinosaurs, using lots of taste safe textures in their dinosaur swamp and expanding on their gross motor movements to move around like dinosaurs in the garden! They have learnt lots of new language throughout!

We are recruiting....

We are looking for an enthusiastic early years practitioner to join our ever growing and busy team. This is a full-time position between the hours of 7.30am and 5.30pm.

You will;

Deliver the EYFS: designing and leading creative play-based educational activities.

Be a keyperson: tracking individual and developmental milestones. Maintain learning journeys and conduct progress assessments.

Provide quality care: ensuring a safe, clean, nurturing and emotionally supportive environment for babies and young children.

Work with parents and carers: building positive daily communication channels regarding childrens routines and progress.

Follow strict safeguarding procedures, maintain nursery hygiene and carry out daily risk assessments.

Requirements.

Qualified level 2 or 3 in childcare, early years or equivalent (We will consider an apprenticeship for the right candidate).

Up to date working knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding policies.

Experience within an early years setting, nursery or pre-school.

Sports Day 2026!!!

AARGGHHHHHH... Pirate week was one to remember and the children all loved it!

We have been getting creative making boats from recycled materials and using our imagination to get into character to become pirates! The children have made treasure maps, been on treasure hunts around the garden, and worked as a team to count their treasure into the chest. We have been practising our hand, eye coordination and taking in turns to walk the plank and balance to get to the other side!

What a way to end the term! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow for the open garden and sports day!

Don't forget from Monday 20th July it is the start of the Summer holidays and all year round children only 💛🌞

Reminder

Don't forget it is our annual Sports day tomorrow for the Wise Owls and an open garden for the Mice and Gruffalos (Friday 17th July) 9:30am-11am in the field next to the Methodist Church.

Our Leavers Party will then commence at 1-2:30 for those going to school!
