🌎✈️ AROUND THE WORLD DRESS-UP DAY!** 🌎

As part of our 'All Around the World' theme next week, we’re inviting the children to join us for a special 'Dress-Up Day' on Wednesday 7th October!🌍👗🤠

We would love the children to come dressed in something inspired by a different country or culture. It could be something simple you already have at home — no need to buy anything!

🌵 A cowboy/cowgirl hat – USA 🤠
💃 A Spanish-style dress – Spain 🇪🇸
🥋 A martial arts outfit – Japan 🇯🇵
🪗 A traditional-style outfit from another country
🌺 A colourful outfit inspired by another culture

This will be a lovely discussion point for the children, giving us the opportunity to talk about different countries, cultures, clothing and traditions from around the world. 🌎❤️

We can't wait to see where in the world our imaginations take us! ✈️🌍✨

🍂 Autumn at Preschool 🍂

What a wonderful week of Autumn exploration and discovery we have had at preschool! 🍁

The children have been busy exploring the sights, sounds, colours and textures of autumn through lots of hands-on experiences. We scrunched and explored leaves, noticed how they felt, sounded and changed as we handled them. We used leaves for printing and creating collages, developing our creativity while experimenting with natural materials.

We talked about the beautiful Autumnal colours. we can see around us and explored different shades through painting and creative activities. 🎨

Our learning continued as we discovered some new fruits and vegetables, talking about their names, colours, shapes and textures. The children enjoyed opportunities to scoop, pour, mix and explore, developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and understanding of early mathematical concepts.
And, of course, we couldn't have an autumn week without some baking! 🧁 The children enjoyed measuring, mixing and getting involved in the process, while developing confidence, communication and independence.
Through all of these experiences, the children have been learning through play, curiosity and exploration — building vocabulary, developing their senses, strengthening fine motor skills, exploring creativity and beginning to understand the changes that happen around us during Autumn. 🌿🍎🍂

A lovely week full of messy hands, curious minds and lots of Autumn fun! ❤️

A Special Storytime at Delaware Pre-School 🐘🦒🦁

A big thank you to Louise from our local Methodist Church for taking the time to come and visit us and share the story of Noah’s Ark with the children.

Louise made the story really interactive and engaging, encouraging the children to join in, listen, respond and become part of the story. The children thoroughly enjoyed getting involved and exploring the story together.

Through Noah’s Ark, the children had opportunities to develop their Communication and Language skills by listening, answering questions, learning new vocabulary and expressing their ideas. The story also supported Personal, Social and Emotional Development, encouraging kindness, caring for others, teamwork and empathy. 🐾

The children also explored the important message behind the story — caring for others, looking after animals and our world, helping one another and having hope after difficult times. The rainbow at the end of the story provided a lovely opportunity to talk about hope, promises and new beginnings. 🌈

We are so grateful to Louise for giving her time to come and share this special story with us. It was a lovely experience for the children and a wonderful way to bring stories, community and learning together.

We are still awaiting a lot of consent forms for the NHS Toothbrush scheme that were sent out via email (please check spam if not received). Please return these as soon as possible as without them your child/ren will not be able to partake.

Dear Parent/ carers,

We would like to make you aware that there is a diarrhoea and sickness bug going around the Gruffalo (2 year old) room.

The rooms come together during breakfast club and after school club so there is a possibility that the illness may spread.

If your child becomes unwell with sickness and/or diarrhoea please ensure they do not return to preschool until they have been symptom-free for 48 hours.

Please remember that the 48-hour period starts from the last episode of sickness/diarrhoea.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us minimise the spread of illness.
