👶 Baby Room Leader – Full Time

Are you a passionate, experienced Early Years professional who absolutely loves working with babies? Little Buddies Day Nursery is looking for a warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Baby Room Leader to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take the lead in creating a calm, nurturing and inspiring baby room, where our youngest children feel safe, secure and loved while being given every opportunity to grow, explore and flourish.

🌱 About the role

As our Baby Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the baby room, working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team to ensure consistently high standards of care, learning and safeguarding.

We are looking for someone who can lead by example, support and motivate their team, build fantastic relationships with families and, most importantly, put our babies at the heart of everything they do.

💚 We're looking for someone who:
Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
Has previous experience working within an Early Years setting, with experience caring for babies being highly desirable
Has the confidence and experience to lead and support a room team
Has a strong understanding of the EYFS and how babies learn and develop
Understands the importance of attachment, key-person relationships and responsive care
Has a good understanding of safeguarding, child protection and safe sleep practices
Can provide exciting, age-appropriate learning experiences based around children's individual interests and development
Is warm, caring, patient and genuinely passionate about giving babies the very best start
Can build positive, professional relationships with parents and carers
Is organised, reliable and able to work effectively as part of our wider nursery team

This is a full-time position, with working hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

You'll be joining a friendly and supportive nursery where we value our staff and want them to have opportunities to develop professionally. You'll have the chance to make the baby room your own, bring new ideas to the team and play an important role in maintaining the nurturing, home-from-home environment that is so important to us at Little Buddies.

We're taking over one of the biggest buildings in Guisborough and expanding our Day Nursery! 👀🧸

This has been, and continues to be, such a huge work in progress for the whole team, and I can't thank them enough.

Sleep is a big part of nursery life, especially in our Baby Room. 💤

The main change parents might notice is the type of sleep space used for babies 12 months and under. Floor beds can no longer be used for children under 12 months old. The guidance states that these children should only use clear cots (which is what we use, and will continue to use at the nursery).

We wanted to share the updated Safer Sleep Guidance to help you understand what safer sleep looks like, and what we're doing at Little Buddies Day Nursery.

Before your child starts with us, we'll talk to you about their usual sleep routine at home, what helps them feel calm, and how we can support them at nursery.

🧸 We're looking for a caring, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Baby Room Leader to join us at our nursery.

As Baby Room Leader, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation and quality of practice within the baby room, working closely with the management team.

We want our youngest children to develop strong, secure relationships with the
adults caring for them and to be given opportunities to explore, discover and
flourish at their own pace. 💭

Please note that candidates must have a Level 3 Early Years Qualification and a minimum of 1 year working within an Early Years setting as a room leader to be considered for this role.

Key responsibilities include:
👉 Leading and supporting the Baby Room team to provide consistently high
standards of care and education.
👉 Creating a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where babies feel
safe, secure and valued.
👉 Ensuring practice meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation
Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework.
👉 Supporting babies’ individual routines, including feeding, sleeping, nappy
changing and personal care.
👉 Ensuring safe sleep procedures and guidance are consistently implemented.
👉 Promoting secure attachments through sensitive, responsive and consistent
caregiving.
👉 Supporting an effective key person system.
👉 Planning and providing high-quality, age and developmentally appropriate
learning experiences.
👉 Observing and monitoring children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
👉 Identifying emerging needs or concerns and working with management,
parents and other professionals where appropriate.
👉 Developing positive and professional partnerships with parents and carers.
👉 Ensuring children’s allergies, dietary requirements, medical needs and
individual care plans are understood and followed.
👉 Maintaining excellent standards of safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene
and infection prevention.
👉 Supporting, mentoring and guiding practitioners working within the room.
👉 Leading by example and promoting reflective practice and continuous
improvement.
👉 Ensuring appropriate records and documentation are completed accurately
and maintained appropriately.
👉 Working collaboratively with the nursery management team to maintain and
develop high-quality provision.
