Safe Zone Teen Self Protection

Tonight's teens' class looked at defending and escaping a bad guy in the guard. Looked at knee shields, sh*****ng and trapping and rolling.
We try not to wrestle for self defence but sometimes it's the most appropriate response so we need solid skills on the ground to help us get back up.

Great work by all the teams, as usual, and a lot of laughter too, which is always a sign of a fun class.

Fun session tonight in our teens class, looking at kicking for distance and using common objects such as bags as shield type objects to stave off strikes before kicking the bad guy to escape.

A lot of laughter and lively banter on all sides. It's great to see their confidence increasing week on week.

Great to be back at Sandfield School yesterday for the teen class. We looked at being pushed over by the bully, meaning learning safe break fall skills, moving on the ground, and most importantly, getting up to escape.
Great work from everyone with some solid safety skills on display.

No class today due to half term, but I'm looking forward to coming back next week with the regular classes and also working directly with teens in schools to make them safer and more confident.
