Can you hear the bells? 🔔✨

We are thrilled to share that we will be performing the multi-award-winning musical comedy HAIRSPRAY as our next collaboration with the Baltimore School for the Arts 🇬🇧🎭🇺🇸

Hairspray will be performed by the BSA/STA class of ‘27 alongside our Guildford company at Cranleigh Arts in May next year!

Based on John Waters’ iconic 1988 film, Hairspray follows teenager Tracy Turnblad whose dream is to dance on a local TV show in 1962 Baltimore. But as Tracy’s dream begins to come true, she finds herself caught up in something much bigger, a fight for equality, acceptance and the right for everyone to have a place in the spotlight.

Packed with unforgettable songs, huge dance numbers, big characters and even bigger hair, Hairspray is a celebration of individuality, community and the power of standing up for what you believe in!

We can’t wait to get started in Baltimore next month 🤩

It feels incredible to be celebrating 18 years of and to look back on all of the amazing productions that we have created, produced and performed along the way!

Almost 70 musicals and plays and so much more! 🎭

A huge thank you to everyone who has and continues to support us, to our partners and collaborators and to the people who created the work that we love to put on stage! 👏

Thank you to our team ❤️ Showdown is a special place to be and it’s because you give so much passion and commitment! We can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

🌈 We’re Off to See the Wizard! 🌈

We’re thrilled to announce the first production of our 2027 season, we’re heading back down the yellow brick road to the merry old land of Oz!

✨The Wizard of Oz ✨ will be performed at the Capitol Theatre in February 2027 by our Billingshurst and Horsham company.

We’re also opening auditions to new members, so if you’ve ever wanted to be part of the magic, now is the perfect time to get involved. Whether you’re interested in performing on stage or helping behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you!
