How did my beautiful baby girl get to 15. Happiest of Birthdays to her. She is the reason I found Monkey Music. I was recommended to take her as a tiny baby to classes in Crouch End. My musician friends with children said it was the class to go to, if you wanted a real music class. My love for all things Monkey began and here we are 15 years later and probably thousands of little one that I have now taught. Hopefully passing on my love for music to the next generation.

Becca and Monkey had a fabulous time at the Shamley Green playground fundraiser yesterday. We are definitely feeling Christmassy now.

Monkey will be starting his Christmas cheer at Arbuthnot Hall this afternoon. Come down to join him. All money raised will go towards a new playground for Shamley Green.
What a Lovely review to receive on a stormy afternoon.
' I just wanted to drop you a note to say how much we love coming to your classes. It’s been almost a year since we started with you and watching J today in your class (and especially this term) I have just been filled with such immense pride and joy at how much progress he has made in his confidence and happiness as well as his musically ability. From my little baby with reflux who was a bit miserable and serious, he has just grown into the most confident and happy little boy who adores coming to your classes, loves music- particularly drumming and dancing- and comes bounding into your classes! And I really think you have aided his enjoyment in this area. As an ex primary school teacher I fully appreciate how exhausting it can be to maintain enthusiasm day in / day out but somehow you always manage to do it. We’ve met a lot of different group leaders and you are by far his favourite'.

Thank you and remembrance to all those who died in conflict throughout the world.
Becca is stuck in the awful traffic and will be late to class. She will get there as soon as able.
Huge apologies.

Monkey has been having lots of fun this week with Autumn leaves. Pretending to be a leaf floating in the wind helps us listen to the music and move our bodies in time. If we can move our bodies and notice the speed we need to move, then it becomes easier to later play in time and in the beat. Noticing the building blocks of the music is a first step to good musicianship skills.

Our Story
Award winning music classes held in Guildford, Godalming, Bramley and Shalford for children from 3 months to 4 years.
Established in London in 1993, classes are now a weekly treat for 1,000s of families across the UK.
Rock 'n' Roll – from 3 months:
Designed specifically for Mums, Dads and very young babies to share together.
During each class the babies and adults are engaged through gentle songs, fascinating sounds and absorbing activities.
Heigh Ho – from 12 months:
Young toddlers love being up on their feet so lots of dancing and moving encourages the children to explore the space around them and express the music they hear.
The children thrive on the 'steady beat' and are very enthusiastic young members of the Monkey Music band. Themed classes and bold colourful props captivate the children and encourage everyone to get involved.
Jiggety Jig – from 2 years:
By this stage, children can really express the joy that music brings them. They sing, dance, play, move, tell stories, speak, and listen to music together.
Monkey Music teachers make sure that the children develop their sense of rhythm whilst playing in time to Monkey Music songs and games. Hoops, parachute games and circle dances are always popular Jiggety Jig activities.
Ding D**g – from 3 years
Up until now the children have been listening and responding to music they hear. Now that their ears have been ‘finely tuned’ Monkey Music teaches them what music means when they see it written down.
Reading simple traditional musical notation comes easily to Monkey Music children as it is integrated into the final part of our interactive curriculum
