Is your child struggling or simply need reinforcement on a specific concept or subject? Or maybe they need a confidence boost in their learning?

I believe in targeted support in order to assist your child to master concepts and feel confident in their abilities. I very much follow a growth mind set approach. I will look at areas of weakness and focus on those first and then support work covered across that year so that your child enters their school classroom confidentiality, ready for learning.

My background:
After teaching in a top London Prep School for 20 years I moved to Guildford a couple of years ago and started my family. When the children where very young I was tutoring fulltime, but I have returned to the classroom and offer a limited number of spaces in the evenings and on Saturday mornings. I hold an enhanced DBS.

Over the past almost 25 years since moving to the UK, I have spent over 20 of those in a top London prep school teaching English, Maths, Science and Geography (Years 3-8), and I am now doing something different and teaching senior school science up to Year 10.
Apart from teaching, I have also been Head of Years 3, 4 and 5, Year 6 Form Teacher, Head of Geography, Acting Head of Science, Science Coordinator and Gifted and Talented Coordinator. I also have previous experience in reception/nursery/ KS1 and teaching swimming.

I have a great interest in special needs teaching. I spent a significant amount of time training and working in a very highly rated special needs school in South Africa. (The Browns School)

Current rate = £45p/h
Lessons in person (At my house in Guildford) or online

With lockdown in mind, I will be offering group sessions at heavily discounted rates.
Classes will run in the mornings mon, thurs, friday and saturday @ £15 per student (minimum 3 pupils).
We will cover ages 7-11 with english, maths, science, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, extension and creative thinking activities. I can also cover Geography for Common Entrance at 13+.
