The Guildford and Cobham centres offer friendly, welcoming and productive environments: students get an individual approach, working in small groups, taught by a mentor. Visit the website to see a video of a workshop in action. Every student has a programme that is built just for them. They concentrate on getting to grips with topics that they are covering in school whilst also working on a parallel thread that is put together to fill any gaps that may exist in their core skills.
* The MagiKats programme supports the National Curriculum.
* More than tutor 'hot-housing' and more than learning by rote.
* Classes are held all year round.
* MagiKats weekly workshops provide an instant boost.
* Core work (usually completed at home) provides steady consolidation.
* Students use a variety of hands-on resources to enhance their understanding.
* MagiKats’ students use a multi-sensory approach to learning.
* KidiKats Programme (ages 3–5) is a combined Numeracy and Literacy programme.
* Special support available for SATS, GCSE revision, 11+ and common entrance.
* Summer booster programmes are also available. Extension, support and consolidation from early years to GCSE, in age appropriate groups. Guildford (Merrow Methodist Church, Bushy Hill Drive): Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:30pm, Thursdays 4:00 - 5:30pm
Cobham (Cobham Village Hall, Lushington Drive): Mondays 4:00 - 6:00pm

Fees vary depending on the range of subjects studied, please call for details. Established 2006 with over 12 years working with local children. I have been running after school maths and English classes for over a decade, and I am passionate about helping children achieve their full potential in the least painless way possible! Practice doesn’t just improve performance; it builds confidence.
One simple way to develop a child’s writing is to encourage them to keep a diary or journal of their daily life. It could be their favourite moment at school, something fun that happened in the day, what they did in a club, or even what they’ve been learning at MagiKats. Remember to add in a small reward for keeping it updated too!

When children take time to think about what they've learned, what they found challenging, and what they enjoyed, they deepen their understanding and develop valuable problem-solving skills.

The more words a child understands, the easier it becomes for them to make sense of what they’re reading, follow new ideas and develop confidence in their learning.

Spending a little time each day reading together, having conversations that introduce new words or topics, and encouraging children to ask about unfamiliar words can all help build vocabulary skills that will support stronger reading, writing and communication skills for years to come.
