🎭🎶 RBO Singing Day at Merstham Park School 🎶🎭
What an incredible day of singing, storytelling and musical discovery! ✨
Over 260 Year 5 and 6 pupils from six local primary schools from the Redhill/Merstham area came together at Merstham Park School on 16 September for a special workshop led by artists from the Royal Ballet and Opera (RBO).

The children explored how stories can be told through music, learning about the characters and plot of Mozart's The Magic Flute before singing an aria from the opera themselves. 🎼
The day also featured a fantastic performance by Merstham Park School students, who sang a song from their recent production of Annie. They then took part in an inspiring singing masterclass led by RBO artist Elinor Moran and theatre director Freya Wynn-Jones, accompanied on piano by Phoebe Tak Man Chow. 🎹

This exciting event marks the beginning of a new partnership between the Royal Ballet and Opera and Surrey Music Hub, helping to embed singing in the curriculum and inspire children to continue singing as they make the transition from primary to secondary school. 🎵💙
