Back in the Forest today 😁

Some of our Easter activities this week 🐣 😀

Just some of the “ under the sea” activities we have been enjoying this week 🦀🐳🐬🐡🐠 😁

We found the dinosaur! 🦖 He had made himself a little nest and collected some of our crackers for his snack! The children have decided to call him Dennis 😁

We have a mystery! We have an egg but no dinosaur! 🦖 looks like we will be going on a dinosaur hunt today.

Day 11! Wow I think the dinosaur is almost ready to meet us!!! 🦖

Day 10! We can see a bit more of the dinosaur! It’s shell is starting to fall away too. If anyone has any name suggestions please comment below. 🦖

Day 9!! It’s really making quick progress! I wonder what type of dinosaur it’s going to be? 🦖 🦕

Day 8! We can see the head! The shell is slowly starting to move away. The children are being very patient and are still very excited!

Day 5. It’s almost hatched! I’m sure we will have lots of excited children today! 🦖🦕

Day 4. We have a small crack in the egg!! We will be watching it very closely today to see if we will have a baby dinosaur by the end of the day 🦖🦕 😁

Day 3. We can see a small change in the shell of the egg but no dinosaur yet! 😮

Day 2. We have checked on our dinosaur egg this morning and no changes so far! The children are still very excited and hoping it will hatch tomorrow 😁

When the teachers arrived at Pre-School this morning they were very surprised to discover a dinosaur egg in the garden. We brought it inside and have placed it in a dinosaur bath to see if it will hatch! The children are very excited to see what happens and will be responsible for keeping an eye on it for any changes. We just hope it doesn’t eat our snacks while we’re not looking!
Forest School Principles
Principle 1: Forest School is a long-term process of frequent and regular sessions in a woodland or natural environment, rather than a one-off visit. Planning, adaptation, observations and reviewing are integral elements of Forest School.
• Forest School takes place regularly, ideally at least every other week, with the same group of learners, over an extended period of time, if practicable encompassing the seasons.
• A Forest School programme has a structure which is based on the observations and collaborative work between learners and practitioners. This structure should clearly demonstrate progression of learning.
• The initial sessions of any programme establish physical and behavioural boundaries as well as making initial observations on which to base future programme development.
