Kings College Guildford

Kings College Guildford We offer a modern and forward thinking approach to secondary education with a strong emphasis on maximising the academic and personal success of students.

Kings College sits very much at the heart of the local community. We are an inclusive school that believes that every child is an individual and that every child can make significant progress. In order to succeed, we aim to build confidence and academic resilience so that students are comfortable taking intellectual risks and trying new things. We believe that this confidence will be established in an environment where pupils are:

- praised when they have succeeded or tried hard
encouraged to make mistakes, but learn from them and use that learning on the path towards future success
- extended with learning that is challenging but attainable
- aware of the purpose of their learning and the criteria for success
- able to access a wide range of extracurricular opportunities

Kings Reads 2U is back for another year! This popular Year 7 reading club runs every weekday morning from 08:00–08:25, starting Monday 21st September. Students meet Miss Phillips by reception each morning and are welcome to bring a snack to enjoy while they listen to the story.

This term's reads are The Twits by Roald Dahl and Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz. Kings Reads 2U is a wonderful way to start the school day, helping students arrive ready and focused for learning while fostering a love of reading.

Families interested in their child joining should email [email protected]

The final term at school saw our Gold and Silver DofE participants complete their final expedition in Exmoor!

From navigating open moorland to taking in the breathtaking views of the Bristol Channel along the South West Coast Path, our students showed incredible grit through some tough, hot days. Every single participant embraced the challenge and succeeded—finishing in style with well-earned fish & chips by the sea!

We are so proud of you all. Well done!
