Wood Street Village is a village in the county of Surrey, England with a village green. It is located three miles (4 km) west of Guildford and is part of the parish of Worplesdon. Local amenities include a church (St Albans), infant school, post office and two public houses (the White Hart and the Royal Oak). The Normandy Youth Center also serves the children of the area. There are a number of old houses in the village; some of the nearby farmhouses date from the 15th century. Wood Street School opened in 1878 and the Victorian part still stands. The current St Alban's church building was completed in 1967. The village green features the only surviving maypole in Surrey.

Don’t forget the Macmillan Coffee Morning on the green tomorrow starting at 11.30am.
Come and meet up with friends, enjoy some refreshments and watch the maypole dancing - all money raised will be going to Macmillan Cancer Research.

Any donations of cakes or biscuits (sweet or savoury) would be much appreciated - just bring them to the stall on the green.

We are also holding a book stall so again any unwanted books which you are happy to donate would be most welcome.

It is hoped that Aylings will be joining us again and holding a tombola and The Galloping Bean will also be on the green. Both have pledged to give all donations to this very worthwhile cause.

So…… see you tomorrow!!

There is a Macmillan Coffee Morning which is being held on the village green on Saturday, 26th September from 11.30am onwards.
All proceeds will go towards the Macmillan Cancer Research.
