Thank you for providing a wonderful hands-on adventure for us this week!

The children loved meeting a variety of fascinating creatures, including giant millipedes, a Malayan jungle nymph, a tarantula, a scorpion and even a snake. Each child received a Certificate of Bravery to celebrate taking part in this special experience, which inspired a real sense of awe and wonder about the natural world.

With all the sunny weather over half term, we were excited to return and see how much our garden had grown. The children have loved helping to take care of the plants in our nursery outdoor spaces, watering them and watching them flourish.

🦕 There was great excitement when some giant dinosaurs were discovered hiding in our wooden den! After lots of imaginative adventures and exploring the sandpit, the children enjoyed giving them a bubbly bath in the tuff tray, carefully cleaning them with brushes and cloths while working together as a team.

🐞 We were also delighted to receive a beautiful handmade bug hotel from one of our nursery families. Thank you so much – we can't wait to see what creatures come to visit!

A wonderful finish to the first half of the term 🌿✨

This week we eagerly began a mission to rescue the pretend worms in the tuff tray using tweezers, with lots of giggles and mathematical language in our play. In the cabin, we worked together to create a beautifully colourful garden masterpiece filled with flowers, sunshine, ice creams and more! At Forest School, to celebrate World Bee Day this week, we made our own adorable fir cone bees and enjoyed a woodland snack time together too. We ended the week creating some delicious cookies, the perfect comforting hygge treat for the end of an adventure filled half term!

A week inspired by nature, creativity and cosy moments with our friends. 🧡🌿

Sunshine filled hygge moments ☀️🌿

This week, we have been busy getting to know our new starters who have joined us this term, they have all done so well. We are now looking forward to continuing to support these little ones and their families as they settle into our nursery community.

The children have also enjoyed time playing in the hammock and exploring our button box—sorting and discovering lots of little treasures. Outdoors, they created a den in our wooden area using fabric and pegs. We are very grateful for both the button box and fabric that were kindly donated to us.

We made some delicious houmous and guacamole together during our weekly cooking session and enjoyed it for part of our afternoon snack. Overall, it's been a sunny week of busy hands and growing friendships.

We are now accepting registrations for the Autumn term. To find out more about our nurturing little nursery visit: www.peaslakenursery.com

What a wonderful first week back after the Easter break! We’ve been enjoying the sunshine from the shady corners of our nursery garden, with our lovely shade sail keeping the sandpit cool for digging and exploring. We’ve also been water painting the wooden fort and enjoying the gentle rhythm of outdoor play.

We’ve made bird seed cakes for our regular feathered visitors and loved watching them up close at our window feeder. The woodland around us is now full of bluebells too—perfect for a gentle walk, spotting and smelling along the way.

There’s nothing quite like a trip to the farm to celebrate the arrival of spring. This week, we hopped aboard the Community Wasp Bus for our annual visit to the farm of one of our Nursery families.

We had a fantastic time meeting all the animals and collecting eggs—thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. We’re already looking forward to visiting again next year!

Sunshine in our woodland space,
Boots go squelch and laughter plays.
Bugs collected, mud pies made,
Nature crowns in dappled shade.

Watermelon, log circle treat,
Birdsong humming soft and sweet—
A cosy time, so calm, so free, 🌿
Our little world beneath the trees.

This morning in the sunshine we headed to our Forest School classroom. The children discovered how to make their own chalk paint by carefully grating chalk and mixing it with cornflour and water — a wonderful way to share ideas, explore colours and enjoy creative, nature-inspired learning together.
