๐ A MOMENT TO REFLECT AND CELEBRATE OUR YEAR 13sโฆ ๐
Following the excitement of Results Day and our earlier celebrations, we wanted to take another moment to recognise what today really represents for our Sixth Form Class of 2026. โค๏ธ
Results Day inevitably brings a focus on grades and headline figures, but every studentโs results represent an individual success and a personal journey.
Behind every set of results is a different story โ hard work and determination, challenges overcome, progress made, confidence built and ambitions shaped. Success will look different for every student, and every achievement deserves to be recognised in the context of that individual journey.
Today marks the culmination of everything our Year 13 students have invested in their Sixth Form experience, supported along the way by their teachers, families and the wider GCS community.
And now, one important chapter ends and another begins.
Whether your next step takes you to university, a conservatoire, an apprenticeship, employment, a gap year or somewhere entirely different, we hope you leave GCS proud of your own achievements and your own journey, and excited about the opportunities ahead.
๐ To every member of our Year 13: congratulations. We are immensely proud of your individual successes, the young adults you have become and the contribution each of you has made to our school community.
Enjoy your celebrations, embrace your next chapter and stay connected. ๐
๐ Once GCS, always GCS.

๐จ๐ญโ๏ธ Sometimes a trip is everything you hope it will beโand our visit to CERN and Geneva certainly was.
From exploring the world-leading science and innovation at CERN to experiencing the beauty, culture and history of Geneva, our students enjoyed the perfect balance of education, discovery and adventure.
The trip brought science to life beyond the classroom, giving students the opportunity to see cutting-edge research in action while inspiring curiosity about the future of science, engineering and technology. Combined with the chance to explore one of Europe's most beautiful cities, it was an unforgettable experience for both students and staff.
A fantastic few days of learning, exploration and lasting memories. ๐๐ฌ

๐ต House Music is always one of the highlights of the school year!๐ต One of the things that makes House Music so special is that students and staff all take part, making it a truly whole-school celebration of music, creativity and community.
From rehearsing songs to developing each House's unique theme, musical interpretation and storytelling, the talent, teamwork and dedication on display were outstanding.
A huge thank you to our wonderful adjudicator, Hannah Hutton, who had the difficult task of judging an incredible range of performances. We were treated to fantastic arrangements, creative interpretations and memorable performances, all delivered in a supportive atmosphere and expertly led by our brilliant Sixth Form students.
The celebrations concluded with our traditional evening concert for parents, families and friendsโa wonderful showcase of the musical talent across Guildford County School and a fitting way to end the term.
Congratulations to all the students and staff who made this year's House Music such a memorable event, and a special congratulations to York House on this year's well-deserved victory! ๐๐ถ

๐ Our annual Year 10 Careers Day was our biggest careers event of the year, bringing the school to life with energy, teamwork, creativity and inspiration. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a wide range of careers, develop essential employability skills and discover exciting future pathways.
Throughout the day, students:
๐ผ Took part in a dynamic Business Simulation with SATRO, negotiating, developing and launching their own businesses.
๐ฏ Explored the attitudes and skills employers value through engaging workshops with Platform 17.
๐ค Met and spoke with over 40 employer volunteers during our Speed Networking and Interview Skills sessions, gaining invaluable career advice and confidence.
๐งฌ Discovered the world of science and innovation with the fantastic team from Pfizer.
๐ค Explored robotics and STEM careers through hands-on activities with the University of Southampton.
๐ Investigated the exciting world of space, rockets and astrophysics with an expert from UCL.
๐ฎ Created and explored the possibilities of Cyber Animation with the team from Xpark Games.
A huge thank you to all of our employer partners, volunteers and visitors for giving their time, enthusiasm and expertise to inspire our students.
Experiences like these simply wouldn't be possible without your support.
Finally, thank you to all of our incredible staff, whose enthusiasm and teamwork helped make the day such a tremendous success.
Together, we are helping our students build confidence, broaden aspirations and prepare for their futures.

๐โจ A few final highlights from our Year 7 Summer School!
Building on a fantastic first day, students enjoyed even more activities across Textiles, History, PE, Music and Future Aspirations, giving them an exciting taste of life at secondary school.
Alongside the subject sessions, students took part in fun icebreakers and team-building activities, helping them make new friends, grow in confidence and begin feeling part of the Guildford County School community.
As a special welcome, our new Year 7 students also received a small keepsake created by our Year 10 students during Careers Dayโa thoughtful gift to welcome them to Guildford County School.
It has been wonderful to see so many smiles, new friendships and growing confidence. We can't wait to welcome our new Year 7s back in September! ๐
