And we’re back! Our autumn course has started, and it was lovely to welcome new students and see our returners again after the summer break.

In week 1 our returners started the course with a fine liner project inspired by the intricate interiors of Saul Steinberg, creating a detailed doll’s house style picture.

Our new students learnt about how to achieve different marks with pencils, shading, lifting out and other techniques for pencil drawing. Their main project was drawing tea/coffee cups to put these techniques into action.

Well done to all, you’re off to a great start!

In our second week of acrylics painting we turned our attention to shells and learning to use pallette knives. First they painted shells as they saw them and then they went abstract. After being unsure about this, everyone seemed to enjoy the abstract art in the end!
