🌾 Today, our whole school family came together to celebrate Harvest Festival. This was a special time of worship, reflection and thankfulness.

We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the donations brought in from across the school. Together, we reflected on the many blessings we are thankful for, as speakers from across Key Stage 2 shared their thoughts and read the Creation Story alongside Reverend Pauline.

There was great Joy as we sang Harvest Samba and came together in prayer, giving thanks for our community and remembering those who may need our support. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate kindness, gratitude and service to others, reflecting our Christian values and reminding us how we can make a difference when we work together. 🌾🙏

🎵🌾 Our Makaton Club is ready for our Harvest Festival! 🌾🎵

We are so proud of the children for their brilliant signing as they rehearsed one of our harvest songs. Alongside beautiful piano playing from Sophie, the girls sang and signed with confidence, enthusiasm and great teamwork.

Learning to perform tricky Makaton signs whilst singing is no easy task, but their hard work, determination and perseverance have truly shone through. What a wonderful example of Wonder, Belief and Joy in action as they prepared to share their talents at our Harvest Festival. 🍂✨

Would your child like to learn Makaton? Our Makaton Club is open to all pupils and takes place every Monday at 12:30pm with Mrs Simpson. We'd love to welcome some new members! 😊

Another week completed at East Ravendale and what a wonderful Celebration Worship it has been this week! 🎉

This week, we were delighted to recognise our Stars of the Week and Values in Action winners for demonstrating excellent readiness to learn and putting great effort into their learning every day. Their determination, positive attitudes and commitment to doing their best have been fantastic examples of our school values in action. ⭐

🔧✨ Today, our KS1 and KS2 children enjoyed an inspiring STEM assembly all about engineering and the important role engineers play in our everyday lives.

Together, we explored the skills that make great engineers, including curiosity, collaboration and creative problem-solving. The children were fascinated by the stories of real engineers and discovered how these skills can help shape the future. This was a wonderful example of our value of Wonder, encouraging children to ask questions, think creatively and explore new possibilities.

A huge thank you to Natalija from Inventors & Makers, who led an exciting “Who Wants to Be an Engineer?” quiz. The children engaged brilliantly throughout, asking thoughtful and curious questions that showed great enthusiasm for learning. It was fantastic to see their confidence grow as they shared ideas and embraced new challenges. 🌟

⚽ What an incredible achievement for our Year 5/6 girls football team! ⚽

Competing in the ESFA Girls Football Competition, organised by North East Lincolnshire School Sport Partnership, the girls showed outstanding determination, resilience and teamwork throughout the day. After winning their group and holding their nerve to win the semi-final on penalties, they finished as runners-up overall out of 23 schools. 🌟

As one of the smallest schools taking part, this is a truly remarkable accomplishment. The girls demonstrated our values of Belief and Joy in abundance, supporting one another, never giving up and representing East Ravendale with pride. 💙🐦‍⬛🐝

Their success does not stop there. The team has now qualified for the Local Ramsdens Girls Football Cup and the County Finals, where they will face schools from across the Humber region. We are incredibly proud of every player and cannot wait to see what they achieve next. 🎉

🍂🌾 Harvest Festival 2026 🌾🍂

We are looking forward to celebrating Harvest Festival on Tuesday 6th October as we come together in a spirit of thankfulness, generosity and community. 💛

As part of our celebrations, we warmly invite families to donate non-perishable food items, which will be shared with Harbour Place, Grimsby to support local people in need. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a big difference. 🥫🛒

Children will also be taking part in a special Harvest service at St Martin's Church, giving us an opportunity to reflect on the many blessings we are thankful for and to live out our Christian values of kindness and compassion. 🙏✨
