A few from our 0-2's nursery and thier World Cup Day activities! ⚽🌎

A huge thank you to our wonderful families for the effort made on Wednesday with football kits! We really did have such a great day ❤️💛

A beautiful morning in the garden today, lots of water play and an Ice lolly to keep us cool ❤️💛

The Ice Cream van came to visit today! 🍦🩷

Thanks to Harrison's Ices for the Ice Creams today, they helped to keep us cool during our World Cup Day activities! ❤️💛

We've had a wonderful day so far learning about the World Cup and the countries who are taking part! We've been researching all about the different landmarks in these countries and the flags that relate to them, we've played football, jumped the hurdles and tiptoed through the ladders!! 🏆🌎

Our World Cup Day has started with Sonnie from Kickstarters UK delivering a fun filled football morning, we did our usual warm up followed by a match which was great fun, the children split into the red team and the blue team with the blue team coming out victorious 🩵💙⚽

Just a reminder that tomorrow is World Cup Day at Nursery and we have lots of wonderful activities planned throughout the day! ⚽⚽

World Cup Day 2026 - Wednesday, 17th June ⚽🌍🏆

To kick off the FIFA World Cup and celebrate England's first group match, we're excited to host a fun-filled day focused on the tournament and the participating countries!

Throughout the day, the children will engage in various football activities while learning about keeping fit and how exercise impacts our bodies. We'll also explore the diverse cultures and traditions of the different nations involved.

We invite all children to come to nursery dressed in their favourite football kits or a t-shirt representing a country in the World Cup.

Let's make it a memorable day of learning and fun! ❤️💛

Please note: children that do not attend on a Wednesday are welcome to come dressed up throughout the week, we will be doing lots of activities during the week. 😊

On Friday, the children had a fantastic time in the mud kitchen, pretending to bake bread inspired by the story of the Little Red Hen from our book of the month.

They explored scales, discussing the numbers and weights, while using egg timers to talk about how long the bread would take to cook. This engaging maths activity not only promoted their mathematical skills but also encouraged lovely conversations and language development!

This week in our 0-2s setting, we explored the nursery rhyme "Five Currant Buns." The children were really engaged and loved singing along! To build on their excitement, we went for a lovely walk to the local bakery, where we purchased some tasty currant buns. The children were thrilled to bring them back to nursery and enjoy a tasting session together!❤️💛
