🍁 🍂 Class 1A have had lots of fun in their Autumn Sensology communication session. The pupils loved exploring the autumn sensory tray, feeling the sticks, pinecones, leaves and animals. They used their senses to smell beautiful autumnal scents such as coffee, gingerbread and every pupil's favourite, caramel cookie's 😋. In addition, they enjoyed a sound bingo with both rain and wind.
The pupils were introduced to the sounds with the accompanying action; then the pupils were asked to select the correct action when each sound was played. At the end the pupils grouped for an autumn sensory story about going on an autumn walk, looking at what we would see, smell, hear and feel. Everyone had a great time and worked really hard! Well done class 1A! 🌟
We use these structured workouts to stimulate perception, build memory, and give our students a baseline for learning.
