New vocational GCSEs are coming from 2029 — here's the full breakdown. 📢

The government has announced a major shake-up of technical education in England. Students aged 14 to 16 will be able to study new vocational GCSEs from September 2029, with technical routes starting a year earlier in 2028.

The key points:
📚 Subjects could include construction, business, creative media, digital tech and child development
🎓 Nationally set content, regulated by Ofqual, with full parity to traditional GCSEs
🔄 They'll gradually replace Technical Awards
💼 200,000 extra work experience placements for 14–16s
✍️ English, maths and science stay compulsory

What's still unclear: funding, specialist staffing, and which subjects make the final list. A consultation opens later this year.

School leaders have welcomed the ambition but warned about workload and whether schools will get the resources to deliver it.

✅️An Inspector Calls by J B Priestley was on BBC channel 4 tonight and is now avail on BBC iplayer ...

✅️It is the version often shown in schools and the production has some differences to the written play being studied for GCSE, but it is a really good version and will help students to remember the story, characters etc better, for answering their exam questions! 👍🎯

✅️It's really worth a watch anyway, and great for discussion - great revision! 💯 🎯

This time of the year is nerve wracking for many pupils and parents alike. This year, I myself fall into the bracket of parent as well as tutor so I’m totally with you on the nervous scale 😬😬😬

That being said, I know that each and every pupil that walked through the doors here worked incredibly hard and whatever happens tomorrow should hold their head up high.

Remember, this is just a stepping stone. There are WAY more important things to come in your lives. 🤩✏️💕📚⭐️📝
