A little rain never stops the fun at Little Farmers!

Muddy puddles, squelchy boots and messy hands might mean extra washing, but they also mean lots of valuable learning!

Exploring mud and rain helps children develop balance, coordination, confidence, creativity and sensory awareness, all while connecting with the natural world.

At Little Farmers, we embrace the mess, the adventures and the opportunities that come with playing outdoors, whatever the weather!

💚 Because sometimes the messiest moments bring the most meaningful learning.

🌱 LET'S GET CREATIVE WITH LOOSE PARTS! 🧩

Each day our little farmers explore loose parts — and there isn't a “right” way to play! ❤️

With open-ended resources such as tubes, boxes, wooden pieces, containers, fabric and natural materials, children can decide what they want to create and where their imagination takes them.

Today we saw children:

🏗️ Building & constructing
🧠 Problem-solving
💭 Using their imagination
🤝 Working alongside their friends
🗣️ Sharing ideas and developing language
✋ Developing fine & gross motor skills
🌟 Making their own choices and leading their play

The wonderful thing about loose parts is that one object can become anything.

A tube might become a telescope 🔭…
A box might become a house 🏠…
A collection of pieces might become a farm, a road, a rocket or something completely unexpected! 🚀

There doesn't have to be a finished product.
Sometimes the most valuable part is simply having the freedom to wonder, experiment, change your mind and try again. 🌱

At Little Farmers, we love giving children the space, time and freedom to create their own learning. ❤️

❤️ MORE THAN A PICTURE…

You might see a few crates lined up and some children pretending they’re on a train.

We see so much more.

We see children turning their own idea into play.
We see imagination, problem-solving, and communication.
We see friendships developing and children learning how to share a space and an experience together.

And just to the side, we see something particularly special…
A child has stopped to watch.

Nobody has asked them to join in. Nobody has interrupted their moment. They’ve simply noticed the other children, become curious and chosen to stay.

For that child, watching is participation. Watching is connection. Watching is progress. ❤️

At Little Farmers Nursery, this is the kind of learning we value.

We don't believe childhood needs to be filled with adult-led activities or picture-perfect outcomes. We create environments where children have the time, space and freedom to explore their own ideas, with adults who understand when to step in — and, just as importantly, when to step back.

🌿 More than just a trip to the farm… 🐄

We are so lucky to have Nunnys Farm on our doorstep, giving our children opportunities that go far beyond simply seeing the animals.

Fresh air, open spaces, muddy boots and real-life experiences all support children’s confidence, curiosity and wellbeing.

Spending time around the animals encourages children to slow down, observe, communicate and care for something other than themselves. They hear new words in a meaningful context, experience different sounds, smells and textures, and learn about the world through actually being part of it.

For some children, the farm is exciting and full of adventure. For others, it can be a calm, regulating space away from the constraints of walls.

Just fresh air, an animal to say hello to, a puddle to investigate and plenty of time to explore. 🌱

🍅 From garden to snack time! 🌱

There’s something pretty special about eating something you’ve grown yourself!

Our Little Farmers have been busy growing and caring for their own tomatoes, watching them change from tiny plants into something delicious to enjoy at snack time.

Growing our own food gives children real, hands-on experiences, learning where food comes from, how things grow and the importance of caring for our natural world.

And of course… they always seem to taste that little bit better when you’ve grown them yourself! 🍅❤️
Grow it. Pick it. Taste it.

Just another day of learning through real experiences at Little Farmers. 🌱

Its taken me few days to go through this...

We was inundated with emails and messages...

We are so sorry if your school isn't on the list this time round....

I'm fairly certain, if this goes well, we shall do it again.

We do have some schools on reserve as we need to visit Heads of the schools listed to make sure we can do these workshops safely.....

Thank you to everyone who got in touch or tagged...

If your school is listed we shall be contacting the Heads to arrange a chat to go through whats needed on the day....

Teachers... get your sleeves rolled up because you'll be getting involved too.....

Take a look at a snapshot of a day in the life of our 'Little Farmers'
What a blast they have!
Our enriching environment offers unique experiences and endless opportunities to learn through play, sparking curiosity about the world around them.

Our day usually starts with a visit to the farm where we partake in activities such as guinea pig fishing, pony grooming, egg collecting and feeding the animals.

Our nursery has two rooms, including our most recent development, which is our sensory room. Children can regulate their nervous systems in here using climbing equipment, doing yoga, laying near the fish bubble tanks or using the dark tent and disco balls. The tools and techniques are always supported by the early years practitioners.

Our dedicated and passionate team are incredible!
