5 years since the cover reveal! Still feels surreal. One of the best things to come out of running this business, flaws and all. It’s still available to purchase from anywhere online that sells books!
❤️🍾
Actually cannot believe I am writing this post.
✨Love, Comfort, Passion, Craving is now available to pre-order ✨
So much has gone into this project - time, money, hard work, yes. But, writing it has taken me on an emotional rollercoaster because nearly every recipe has such a strong connection to some part of my personal life.
Couple of quick thank yous:
Jade Hannath and Partnership Publishing for being so so so so patient. Honestly, I’ve been threatening them with this for coming up to 4 years, and they have been so patient. The amount of time they have put into this project and my ramblings at ridiculous hours of the day and night - they deserve a medal. Working with them has allowed me to keep the publishing side of things local, which I am so passionate about. So, thank you.
And thank you, supporters of Masala Masters. Without your continued following, liking, sharing, commenting, I would never have dreamed I could do this. You make me feel as though anything is achievable, and I could not be more grateful for your faith in me.
So, without further ado - pre-order your copy here:

When you’re a book family and plan a short break around visiting 👀
We spent over 3 hours browsing and could have spent 3 more but, sadly, time and money are boring, finite things. Such an amazing couple of days!

She would have been 84 today - the shining star of my core memories, the architect of my foundation, the flavour in my food, the original bhaji maker.
The feeling of her hand in mine will stay with me forever. I’m glad I could make her laugh 😊❤️

Story time -
When I was year 9/10, we went to school with a rickshawala kaka (like a school bus). There we were, about 8 or 9 of us, crammed into a ricksha that should, by law, only take three adults 🙈
The big ones (obviously me being one of those. Never been little 😂) sat on the bench, with a mid-sized kid on each of our knees, and another couple of littles on the parcel shelf in the back. Our school bags, lunch baskets and water bottles would hang off the meter, creating a whole micro-world within this tiny vehicle. Our rickshawala kaka was an expert at manouvering his black and yellow supermobile through peak rush hour traffic, hurtling up inclines at 20 km/hr. What a time.
Looking back now, I have to marvel at the simplicity of life. It was clearly totally acceptable by school and our parents for us all to cram into a tiny and quite precarious mode of transport 😂
I’ve seldom actively thought of that journey to school because it was such a mundane part of our lives. But, today, in trying to find my cooking mojo, it came back to me.
Twice a year, once on the last day of the term before Diwali and then the last day of term before the summer holidays, our rickshawala kaka used to stop at a street food vendor selling ✨Bread Pakoras ✨
He’d buy us one each as a little treat and that taste became one of my core taste memories. As an indulgence, it is perfect. A spiced potato and white bread sandwich dipped in chickpea batter and fried to a crisp 😍 one was plenty!
My children go to school on the bus, and it’s lovely when they come home with a little box of chocolates from their bus driver around Christmas time - a quiet reassurance that he is looking out for them through the year, just as ours looked out for us.

I can’t believe I have children old enough to do this trend with 😭❤️ The middle one does not like to be touched so this was amazing 🤩
This whole last time thing is heartbreaking. I can’t remember the last time I picked up my eldest. Once our middle one was born, he only ever got a sofa snuggle, or a bedtime huggle ❤️
We tried it today and it was so much fun, I’m not sure it will be the last time 😂 both of the big ones seemed to enjoy it far too much!
Maybe this one is more a food for the soul kind of post 👀😄

Last weekend 😍
We had some friends visiting from Cheshire and in a subtle turning-a-corner way that life unfolds, we were able to go out for a nice meal, like actual grown-ups!
The food, as always, was sublime. Jack’s food smacks you in the face with gorgeous deep flavours and it’s downright irresistible.
And cocktails were outstanding! That spicy margarita 🤩 🔥! I’m in love x

She’s a bloomin’ beauty! Only took 5 days 🙃
We have a germy house today and this pretty thang is making me smile. Happy weekend! 😬💕

🍁Late autumn harvest! 💕
The best way to spend a slow Saturday morning - bringing in the last of the gifts from our little green corner. We have 2 kilos of tomatoes that are or will be ripe, and nearly 3 kilos of green tomatoes. I think it’s time to try my hand at a spicy tomato chutney 😋🤩
The last of the potatoes look great too. More jobs to be done to get the garden settled for winter, but I’m sticking to the fun ones for now 😄
Might plant the garlic, though 😬
