Sneak peak!

This is week 1 of our year 1 curriculum just to give people an idea of what we do.

Today, we are starting our new curriculum in our house. We are doing year 1 week 1 (I’ll post it in a separate post). It’s a whole family event which has resulted in my 5 year old talking about deciduous and evergreen trees while looking at seasons and temperature.

As you can see, the natural love of learning has been felt by my 2 year told too.

Welcome to our new page. We are teachers who are creating a home education curriculum that complies with the national expectations, delivered in a way that suits your family and encompasses children's curiosity. We are also available to tutor locally for primary aged children in the home education community.

Jess home educates her own children, so has a great understanding of the joys and challenges of home education and we have tried to factor this in to our curriculum. Jess also has a strong background in adoption and fostering and understands barriers to learning that trauma can create. She has personal experience of ways to overcome this. Jess is also a qualified dance teacher who ran her own school for several years.

Diane is a retired teacher who has been teaching for 22 years and has grandchildren who are home educated. Diane has a PGCE in inclusion and has worked with a wide variety of SEN. She has also worked with Artsmark to look at the impact of creative arts on a child's education.

We are just launching our curriculum for September to October, which consists of 6 weeks of learning. Our curriculum is structured with a weekly theme, that spans Reception to Year 6, allowing families to learn together at their own level. We have also suggested possible outings that will engage and inspire a family with a variety of age groups.
