Eleven Plus Preparation
Bit of shame that the 11+ exams are always in September because it means that preparation has to be done during the summer holidays. I try to make it as fun as possible and do the lessons in interesting places to make it seem less arduous.

Working on something very exciting related to Macbeth, watch this space. Want to wish a huge Good Luck to all of my current students who have their Shakespeare Paper tomorrow and for all of their GCSE’s. Enjoy showing all that you have learnt and be confident in expressing your own ideas, the examiners reward original thought. And remember acing your exams is great but nothing is the end of the world, exams are only one measure of things and not the most important by any means. Life is a wide and rich tapestry and exams are just one part of it. 💚 👩🏻🎓 👨🎓 💚

Took some students to the cinema to see the filmed version of Macbeth with Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. I saw the live play in February half term in London. It was a phenomenal play, acting and staging were fantastic. So important to see Shakespeare plays performed, it helps students to more fully connect with and understand the Shakespearean language and themes 🎭 and breaks down any barriers and fears that students have often developed about Shakespeare.
Today was a good day. When I had to choose which subject I was going to do my teacher training in back in 2006, I remember feeling worried about narrowing myself down too much.
I’ve always loved how expansive learning and knowledge can be and how interconnected everything is.
As a private tutor I get to teach a wide range of ages and numerous subjects and really make a diffference in young people’s lives and learning journeys 💚📕✍🏼 💚.

I am a bespoke private tutor.
I am a fully qualified Secondary School Teacher (I qualified in History Teaching from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006.)
I am a Cambridge University Graduate (History) , I also have an Economics degree and I speak three languages.
I have years of private tutoring experience.
I tutor History, English and Economics up to ‘A’Level.
I tutor Maths, Italian, RS and French up to GCSE.
I tutor for 11+, SATS and have experience with various SEN.
I help prepare for Oxbridge entrance exams and interviews.
I also have experience of tutoring students outside of the mainstream school system who have decided to home educate.
Every child is different and requires a different approach, as well as tutoring in the target subject or language I assess what is holding the child back and always boost their self esteem and confidence.
Students usually exceed their predicted grades and or move up sets at school with the help of my tuition and feel better about themselves and their abilities.
I also prepare educational report letters to boost SEN applications.
I tutor face to face but can also accommodate online, I either do one on one or small groups.
