Social media really isn't my strong point but you'll be pleased to hear entertaining children is our thing!
Here's my biannual 😜 update of all the wonderful things we've been up to!
The autumn term has brought us lots of puddle jumping, muddy walks, sensory trays, playgroups, farm life, Halloween, potion making, remembrance day, firework night, crafts, baking, dressing up, role play village, boating lake, Christmas parties, train rides, library visits, garden centre, Santa visit, Christmas dinner x2 and birthday celebrations galore!

With special thanks to Beckie for being the best co-pilot I could ask for and to all our wonderful families and their children -

🥰 Bittersweet as the last of our 2025 graduates has flown the Olive Tree nest this week. We are immensely proud of this very clever, very sociable and happy little bunch who have developed into beautiful mini humans over the past 3-4 years. What a wonderful way to celebrate their achievements with Hartbeeps Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Louth and a visit from Once upon a party 's graduation bear.
Your new adventure awaits, we can't wait to hear all about it! 🥰

We've loved building sandcastles, learning about the life cycle of a frog, knife skills cutting lemons and limes at our very popular tea making tray. Lots of pouring, scooping, squeezing which strengthens our hand and arm muscles in preparation for writing skills. We've heard lots of beautiful dialogue between the children who are developing some wonderful social skills ❤️

🌏 World Earth Day 🌏 Cleaning up our beach and ocean, recycling the rubbish, strengthening our fine motor skills saving the animals trapped in elastic bands. Working on our hand eye coordination using litter pickers and getting creative making a collective masterpiece of our planet which brought up some wonderful discussion about how we can protect our planet. ♻️

To all the Olive Tree Mums old and new. You are doing a wonderful job! Enjoy a sunny Sunday especially for you 🥰 💐

🚘 Beep Beep Day! 🚘
This week we've been taking part in some activities to learn all about road safety and what fun it's been! We've practiced holding hands to cross the road and how to cross safely by walking whilst still checking left and right for cars. We've learnt how to stop, look and listen and some of our very young drivers have had a go at waiting for tiny pedestrians even on their super fast motorbikes! We always promote good car seat safety too as a top priority, always removing coats and ensuring correct restraints for each child when we travel - rear facing until school age.

📚World Book Day 2025!📚

Making our own Gruffalo crumble, taking a trip into space with baby bear, building houses with the Three Little Pigs, making pancakes for Mr Wolf, sharing our favourite bedtime stories from home in our pyjamas whilst exploring torches, lanterns and projection and all our light resources in the dark.
We've also made a right old mess with pancakes and celebrated a birthday this week!
Thank you to Once upon a party for the most wonderful visit from Mr Gruff which the children thoroughly enjoyed this morning!

Using the changing seasons to our advantage ❄️🥶
❄️Mark making in the frost
❄️Exploring animals from cold climates
❄️Using a variety of tools to achieve a desired goal (saving the trapped animals)
❄️Working together as a team
❄️Sharing ideas and changing the focus (asking for hot water!)
❄️Improving core and shoulder strength and range of movement by encouraging huge movements and crossing the midline using heavy tools (secretly preparing them for writing!)
❄️Amazing engagement from all ages!

Celebrating Christmas, a birthday, being OUTSTANDING and finishing that conversation we started 3 weeks last Wednesday!
Our small but mighty team finally got to sit down 😄
