โ๏ธ What A Week!! โ๏ธ
๐ World Earth Day ๐
This week we've been learning about protecting the planet - keeping our beach safe from plastic waste, planting flowers for bees, learning all about recycling and reusing where we can. We reused some paper cups for planting and we refill our washing up liquid, hand soaps and kitchen cleaner at The Soap Shack in Cleethorpes! Thank you Helen for letting the big girls get involved ๐ฅฐ
I had the pleasure of taking the Wednesday group to the Grimsby Auditorium today. A wonderful introduction to performing arts for our small people who were completely captivated and engrossed! ๐คฉ
Easter crafts, egg hunts, sensory play, bug hunts, playgroup, gardening and train rides are just a few of the things we got up to during the second half of spring term! ๐ฑ๐๐ท
A wonderful spring day at Wolds Wildlife Park Ltd for some of our children this week to get up close to the animals! ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ
We joined in the fun down at the farm again this week with Nunny's Mini Farmers Club what a fabulous group this is turning out to be for our little ones. A lovely environment for our children to be up close to the animals handling and hand feeding them and engaging in a wonderful play environment in a larger group. ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ
๐ฐThe Year of the Rabbit ๐ฐ
Tasting, role play, mark making, scissor skills, colour and number recognition, social skills, sensory play, reading and we even learnt a greeting in Cantonese!
It's this week and we're all signed up and ready to go! ๐๐ถ๐ต
๐ฆญ Donna Nook ๐ฆญ
What a beautiful coastline we have to explore. We visited Donna Nook Nature Reserve with some of our friends from Watch Me Grow Childcare and were in awe of nature! ๐ฆญ
Get in touch with Families First for help, advice and support for families with children aged 0-19yrs ๐ค
Our children can't wait to get out in the garden and fill up their watering cans! They have nurtured fruit and veg from seed, taking care where they walk, watering, patiently waiting and watching the changes over time. They have had the opportunity to watch bees at work on the flowers, birds trying to get in before us and identify the various vegetables from their leaves and flowers.
We've already enjoyed our raspberries and strawberries, plus onion and potato. This week some of the children have taken home some carrots and beetroot to show and share with their parents enhancing the strong partnership we have with our families.
Absolutely beautiful day to launch a book! ๐
The children at Olive Tree Childcare will adore this one and even better that we're supporting a local dream ๐ฅฐ
Congratulations to Faye & Alice on your wonderful creation 'The Adventures of olliebobsandduke - The Sneaky Tiger' ๐
What an OUTSTANDING day we had yesterday! My heart is full and I'm a little overwhelmed if I'm honest but proud beyond belief ๐
WE DID IT! ๐
Scores On The Door โญโญโญโญโญ
Our kitchen was recently inspected by the local Environmental Health Officer who gave us a 5 Star rating for complying with the guidelines which ensure safe storage, preparation and handling of food. We have to thank Linderellaโs Cleaning Services for backing us up to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness at all times โญ
It has been a pleasure to take our children to visit The Deep in Hull to get up close to some of their favourite creatures! There's so much to learn about how animals look up close, how they move, types of habitat, how we can help to protect them plus so much more.
We'll be doing another round of visits with our annual passes! ๐ข ๐ฆ ๐ฆ
Busy bees of all different ages enjoying the same activity, each to their own strengths and abilities. Each one engaged and intrigued, developing new skills, using new tools and language, being happy outdoors, not having to be tidy or picture perfect, getting their hands dirty and proud of their creations.
Sustainable seed bombs as gifts for Mother's Day earlier this year ๐๐ฆ๐ป
Our bigger children show a real interest in emergency vehicles so what better way to find out more than to get up close to a police car and speak to a friendly PCSO! We even got to listen to all the different sirens! (Apologies to the neighbours!)
This visit sparked so much interest that all the role play/mark making/and general chit chat was all about the police for days!
The outdoor learning environment has so many benefits for our little ones including reducing stress, improving moods, boosting concentration and increasing engagement. We want to support healthy and active lifestyles, lots of opportunities for physical activity, freedom and movement.
We found so many unusual and natural textures for this activity and used some fantastic descriptive language enhancing our vocabulary as well as ticking all of the boxes above! Let's go outside! ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ค๏ธ๐ป
Back in February our children enjoyed some activities to celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year. We had a lot of fun especially sampling some yummy chinese food and practising using chopsticks! ๐ ๐ฎ๐จ๐ณ
Working together to turn our drop into an ocean ๐ง
Well done to all our families and friends for rustling up this amazing collection for our Ukrainian neighbours.
Here's a lovely animation on why childcare can be so beneficial. ๐ฅฐ
Thank you, thank you and thank you all again for such generous donations to our reverse advent calendar. This year's collection has been shipped off to the team at our local NSPCC hub this morning and is already supporting the community.
From our humble little setting, we know a little goes a long way โค๏ธ

The most thoughtful, respectful and observant little bunch โบ๏ธ
We want to extend our love for books into the homes of all our families, provide opportunities to connect during quality time and be part of developing the children's curiosity and imagination about the world around them. Not forgetting to mention communication and language skills...we could go on! Our little lending library has proven really successful over the last term! ๐
Collaborative play, critical thinking, problem solving, active learning โญ
Celebrating a birthday this week with the help of Little Tumbles Soft Play the children had a blast! ๐

All things dinosaur! ๐ฆ
So excited to be enjoying some of the local attractions again and offering a wealth of experiences for our little extended family.
We really can't complain too much about the restrictions when we have such beautiful places to explore right on our doorstep. The children have been enjoying nature and finding pleasure in the most simple things.... usually a pocket full of stones and shells!
The children had a fabulous time for World Book Day today with a focus on The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We were able to facilitate learning in so many different areas and of course it turned into snack time too! ๐๐
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder โ๏ธโ๏ธ We've enjoyed making the tiniest snowpals in the world, taking them for rides on the sledge and sending them down the slide too ๐
A new web chat and text message service for all our local families to safely make contact with the Health Visiting team.
I can't tell you how proud I am again this year to be handing over the items from our reverse advent calendar to Mumaroo: Lincolnshire Babywearing Consultancy & Sling Library, for their campaign to help families in our local area this Christmas. What an amazing effort from all our lovely families! โค๏ธ
Well why not?! We love the beach! ๐๐๐ฆ
We're celebrating World Nursery Rhyme Week! Lots of fun!
So proud of how beautifully quiet the little ones were at the cenotaph. Our Remembrance activities have provoked lots of discussion about people who help us and bravery. We can build respect and tolerance into everything we do. ๐
For any families who have children who turn 5 during the next academic year...
Starting School for the First Time in September 2021
If your child was born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 you will need to apply soon for their place in primary school (Reception year), to start in September 2021.
The application process will open from 9 November 2020 and close on 15 January 2021. If you/your child live in North East Lincolnshire you must make your application with the School Admissions team of North East Lincolnshire Council, even if you want to apply for a place at a school in a different county.
My child is still in nursery/pre-school - isnโt it too early to apply for a school place?
No - if your child will be 5 years old by 31 August 2022, you need to apply by 15 January 2021 to secure them a place in Reception.
How do I apply?
Visit the website for full information and access to the application processes: www.nelincs.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-admissions/apply-for-a-school-place
Wherever possible, parents/carers are advised to apply online as receipt of applications can be confirmed directly with School Admissions. You can apply:
โข Online, by registering an account and applying through the Citizen Portal on the School Admissions website. You will need a valid email address to be able to apply via the Citizen Portal as you will receive your school allocation decision by email on 16th April 2021.
-or-
โข Online via an e-application form on the School Admissions website. This is a simplified, online version of the application form. You do not need an email address to apply on this form, as you will receive your school allocation decision by letter, posted out on 16th April 2021.
-or-
โข By completing a Common Application Form (CAF), available as a downloadable Word document from the School Admissions website. This is the โpaperโ application form option. CAFs may be available from your childโs nursery or preferred primary school office, or you can request a copy from the School Admissions team. Applicants through CAF will receive their school allocation decision by letter, posted out on 16th April 2021.
The closing date for making your application is 15 January 2021.
Please be aware that if your child currently attends a nursery or pre-school, this does NOT mean that they have automatically applied for a place at the associated primary school. An application must be submitted for each child to be considered for a school place.
