Hey everyone, since having a private page I don't post our learning on here, but Angela's house is still very much full of learning and fun, in my home from home environment.

We have done some baking/cooking, we have been on setting trips to the park, beach and this year we even went to the farm and Hubbard Hills.
The children always love our sensory trays to extend and re-enforce our learning. The children especially loved the butterfly πŸ¦‹ life cycle we observed this summer term. A community dental nurse came to see us to talk about how to keep our teeth heathly too. The children were really engaged and we carried the learning on at home.

These are just a few pics of all our learning the past few months.

Love Angela. Xx

2 years ago today, Angela's House officially opened its doors, to a lovely little boy and my little journey began!

Lots of love Angela! Xx

Today was all about red!

We had a red sensory tray, we made a yummy red pizza and we had red fruit for pudding. We also made some red(well pink hehe)biscuits for a treat!

I love cooking and baking with the children because touches on so many areas of learning. It requires hands on use of a variety of maths concepts, including weight and measurement, we use mathematical language like more less ext. We did stirring, rolling, squeezing and spreading to develop their fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills. Cooking and baking also offers a great opportunity to help with language development as well, though talking and describing what we did. The children described what they were doing, what they could see, smell and how the different ingredients felt etc.
It was even unknowingly a science lesson πŸ₯°. The little loves watched the materials change colour, texture and form ❀

It was such a lovely day with 2 of my little friends. Xx

As we approach the final week of February this is just some of the learning the children have enjoyed.

We learnt about Chinese new year and Tigers because its the year of the tiger πŸ…. We made tiger stripes with tangerines, yellow, red and black paint, a tiger came to tea. We explored some noodles and explored using chop sicks and tweezers. We have been working on our independence, we had a week all about love and talked about what means to us, who we love and how we feel. We have been out exploring and saw some nests. One week or childminding group was all about physical play the children absolutely loved that. Finally before the weather got too bad we got wrapped up warm and went outdoors, the wind blowing is a lovely sensory experience for children, we went in the trees to listen to the sounds of the wind blowing and to see affects of the wind on the trees we also popped to see the ducks the children loved this little outing. Xx

We now have a more personal page just for parents, but I will occasionally pop some pics on to show you what we get upto.

This is some of the fun we had at the end of Jan.

We have been learning about the weather, all things cold and working on our fine motor skills. The children did a lovely activity on winter clothes with very little help. Getting creative helps little ones develop their imagination and helps to improve their communication and listening skills, as well as their ability to pay attention being improved. We have done some baking, lots of sensory play and we did a fabulous ice activity 🧊 where lots of areas of learning were linked. Xx

This week we have enjoyed having everyone back together and have done some lovely things....
We went on a listening walk and stopped off to see the ducks we counted them and sang mummy duck.
On our walk into the community we lots lost of people and lots of dogs πŸ• we talked about how big and small they were and other differences. We could hear the cars, children playing, a helicopter and even an ambulance. We then had a little play on the park.
We have been to soft play to do some climbing and lots of physical play. The children are getting so brave and push themselves through problem solving and critical thinking.
We went back to our group on Wednesday, the children enjoyed all the different activities,
We have made a role play shop, we made sure we said please and thankyou and payed for our things.
During soom free play it's was lovely to see one of our friends pretending to be her mummy she said "i am mummy washing the pots", Finally today we played "whats in the bag" the children are brilliant at describing what they have picked out and what they are for or do.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend love Angela xx

Hello, hope your all well. We have been so busy since coming back from Christmas! This is what we have been upto this and last week.

At group time we sat at talked about our time away and what we had been upto. The children were exticited to talk about Father Christmas and what he had brought them.

We did a lovely creative activity, we looked in the mirror πŸͺž and then drew a picture of our selves...we talked about eyes, lips nose ect and how we are all different but still beautiful. One friend said "I have curly hair, but you dont"

We have been working on sharing and working as a team. So the children worked together to construct some towers, they worked out if someone holds it you can make it taller.

We have done some colour sorting and counting. Our youngest friend enjoyed feeling the sand and the sensory experience. There has been lots of role play, which the children love so much at the minute. Xx

Let's hope we can all have a better new year without any disruption from the pandemic it seems to trying to at the minute.

All at Angela's house, hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.... see you all on the 5th of January 2021.

I had planned to go to the woods today but the weather made us re-think so insted we went to see the ducks with our clover, he was just as much fun as looking for squirrels hehe.
We pretended to cut up cake today, we counted how many pieces there was and how many we had? Who has more? We also talked about how we must hold it safely like when we use them at lunch time. πŸ˜„

I will put a post up next week with dates for our Christmas Dinner and Christmas parties....there will be 2x to make sure all the children get one πŸ˜€ 😍
We will also be participating in Christmas jumper day for save the children charity, so I will put the date up for that too.

This is what we have been upto this week. Tuesday was especially lovely I was so proud of one of our friends he doesn't normally like sensory play but loves cars so I thought I would combine the two and he loved it! The cars were great for Mark making through the lentals, yellow peas and rice. We have been to our group to see our friends again. Another lovely moment was when two of our friends were playing together and it was like a mini me she was singing our welcome and weather song, asking how her friend felt and if she had news then she said story time and started reading πŸ˜†. Xx

Not many pics today my phone won't take any more so I need to sort that at the weekend. πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ.

We had lots of fun with yellow playdoh and coloured spots, we made a Pudsey Biscuit and made spotty gluing and sticking like his bandage. We also celebrated "The wheels on the bus" and "Old mc Donald" for the last day of Nursery Rhyme week.

There was only 3 friends here today but we still managed to donate Β£8 for children in need which we will round to Β£10.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend πŸ˜€

Today we met our other friends and had a physical play session. They had a great time at soft play and the children get braver and braver every week! Our newest friend enjoyed exploring and crawing around the new environment. We also concentrated on the nursery rhyme "1,2,3,4,5" 🐟 while out we saw a beautiful cat tge children loved watching him/her xx

Wednesday we celebrated "3 little monkeys jumping on the bed"πŸ’ πŸ™ˆ πŸ™Š and 5 little ducks πŸ¦†πŸ¦†πŸ¦†πŸ¦†πŸ¦†. The children absolutely love 3 little monkeys it's the one they all choose. So we had to do this one! They loved the masks that Scott made for us! After role playing, we then talked about monkeys, where they live? what colour they are? What we think they might eat? And we read my fav story monkey puzzle!! We also got out doors and went to see the ducks we sang to them and fed them some bird food, (although I think they liked somebody else's bread more hehe) and talked about their differences. Finally we turned the sensory tray in to a pond and the children did some colour sorting and counting. What a busy fun day of learning that was! Xx

Photos from Angela's House, Childminding a Home from Home's post 18/11/2021

On Tuesday we celebrated twinkle twinkle and Miss Polly. The children enjoyed making a star and we dressed as Dr's, a mummy and made the dolly better.. we also worked on our fine motor skills counting with the cotton reals threading xx

Photos from Angela's House, Childminding a Home from Home's post 15/11/2021

Today we have been celebrating Incy Wincy spider and wind the bobbin up. We made some spider prints and drew spiders πŸ•· πŸ•· on the chalk boards. We talked about how many legs and what they might eat. We watched a little video about spiders and learnt that some make a web and some don't. The ones who don't have to run fast for their food. The children found it funny when it said they carry their babies in a bag near their bottom. Our youngest friend said we carry babies in our arm not our bum πŸ˜€. We also used brilliant fine motor skills and wound wool around a paper bobbin. We took turns to picking other songs out of a nursery rhyme bag too. Xx

15/11/2021

This week is world Nursery Rhyme week! So we will be celebrating a different one each day. πŸ˜πŸ˜€. Xx

15/11/2021
