Places are still available for the next session of Communicating with Non-Verbal Clients taking place on 12 May 2026.
This training explores how communication develops and the factors that can hinder it, drawing on relevant communication models and research. The session also introduces Focus’s Communication Tool Kit and includes practical approaches that can be used to better support people who are non-verbal.
The course is designed to help practitioners build confidence and adaptability in real-world situations, with a strong focus on reflective practice and the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. In particular, we look at how reasonable adjustments can ensure individuals are fully involved in decisions about their health and social care.
Course objectives include:
