Samuel Howson Crofts is celebrating today after picking up his GCSEs at The Academy Grimsby. Samuel achieved fantastic exam results and is looking forward to progressing on to mechanical engineering at the Grimsby Institute.

Sam said: I'm pleased with my grades. I've enjoyed being at The Academy Grimsby, it's been great. I'm ready to start my course at the Institute now."

A big well done to Georgia on her fantastic GCSE results, we're so proud of you. Georgia is now looking forward to starting her electrical engineering apprenticeship with Hain Daniels!

"I've always wanted to be an engineer. I've been helping my dad with his hobby of repairing bikes since I was young, and always had an interest in how things work.

"I'm so happy with my grades. I came from my previous school to the Academy Grimsby because I wanted to study on the engineering pathway and it's been great. Everyone is so supportive and the workshops are so well equipped."

Huge congratulations to Sam on his GCSE results today. Sam is going on to study A Level Photography, Graphics and Fine Art.

He said: “I’m so happy but so shocked! I’ve loved my time at The Academy Grimsby. I was home-schooled, but when I joined I was made to feel so welcome. Everyone has been amazing.”

Meet Meg!

Meg, originally from Tollbar Academy, applied to our Academy Grimsby and trained on the Health & Social Care pathway.
After her GCSEs, Meg applied to Career 6 on the Crime & Society pathway, where she completed one year. After which she decided to move onto the Forensic & Criminal Investigation pathway and achieved a DDM. Meg is heading to the University Centre Grimsby campus to study Criminology.

"I chose UCG because it’s closer to home, I know the people and have studied in the building. The support has been really good. When I finish uni I want to become a Probation Officer."

It's been great meeting some of our new students this week at our TAG Rocks welcome days (Tilly, Codie, Lyla)
Tilly, applied to us from Oasis Wintringham and will be joining us on the &Beauty pathway alongside Codie from Havalock Academy.
Tilly said: "I want to do hair and beauty when I'm older. I love doing my nails, eyelashes and make-up. I want to go into prosthetic make-up."

Lyla has applied to us from Tollbar Academy and will be joining us on the pathway. "I chose Health & Social Care because I want to be a nurse."

We've met some great students this week, it's been wonderful to listen to their aspirations and can't wait to help them on the start of their journey to a great .

The rain didn't pause play on our TAG Rocks welcome day today! It's been great spending time with our new applicants, exploring our career based pathways, whilst having some fun enjoying the great British weather. Topped off with a BBQ lunch.
