🚲🌟 What an incredible week for Year 5! 🌟🚲

Our Year 5 children have had a fantastic week taking part in Bikeability, developing their cycling skills, confidence and road awareness. 🚦👏

The children have worked incredibly hard, with many achieving their Cycle Proficiency Level 1, while others have progressed onto Level 2! 🏅

But the biggest achievement has been seeing some children who couldn’t ride a bike at the start of the week leave school confidently riding one! 🥹🚲

We couldn’t be prouder of the determination, resilience and courage they have shown. What a fantastic achievement! 💚👏

🚲🛴 Active and Safe travel to school! 🛴🚲

As part of our Living Streets initiative, we’re encouraging our children and families to choose active ways to travel to school, including walking, cycling and scooting. 🌳💚

However, staying safe is just as important! Please remind children to use designated cycle paths, pavements and safe routes where appropriate, rather than riding on the road where it isn’t safe or permitted.

🚦 Stop, look and listen, slow down near crossings and junctions, and always be aware of other pedestrians and road users.

We love seeing our children getting active on their journeys to school — let’s make sure they’re doing it safely too! 🌟

🌿👣 Bringing our giant to life! 👣🌿

Our children have been getting creative outdoors, using nature to recreate the giant from our mysterious school CCTV snapshots! 🌳🍂

Working together, they used natural materials to bring their ideas to life, thinking carefully about the giant’s size, features and appearance. It was fantastic to see their imagination, teamwork and creativity shine through! 💚✨

🔢 Making place value hands-on! 🔢

Our Year 4 children have been getting stuck into their place value learning by using place value counters to explore the value of each digit in a number. 🧮✨

By physically building numbers and identifying the worth of each digit, the children are developing a deeper understanding of thousands, hundreds, tens and ones.

Learning maths through practical, hands-on activities makes it meaningful, memorable and lots of fun! 💡👏

Through fun, engaging activities and conversations, Compass Go helps our children to understand their feelings, build confidence and develop positive strategies to support their mental wellbeing. 🧠💭✨

👑🏰 A right royal day at Gainsborough Old Hall! 🏰👑

Today, our Year 4 children stepped back in time as part of our History project! ⚔️📜

The children explored the magnificent hall, discovered what life was like during Tudor times and even had the chance to dress up as Tudors! 👗🧥

They then brought history to life by acting out a Tudor feast fit for a king! 👑🍗🍇 It was fantastic to see the children getting into character.

A brilliant day of history, discovery and lots of Tudor fun! ❤️🏰
