And the children were able to discuss some other favourite stories which also featured in this new book

Healthy Eating 🥒
The children continue to take part in preparing snack and are developing their independence and practical skills. They are learning how to safely chop vegetables using child-friendly utensils, with adult guidance and support.
The children have really enjoyed being involved in preparing their own snack and are becoming more confident in using the equipment, making choices, and helping to prepare healthy foods. This has also provided opportunities to talk about healthy eating, different vegetables.

Celebrating International Literacy Day, today the children enjoyed a fun-filled day of stories, imagination and creativity! 📚✨
The children have daily access to a wide range of stories and books, giving them regular opportunities to develop a love of reading, explore new ideas and enjoy sharing stories with others.
During our special literacy day, the children listened to and shared stories together, explored The Gruffalo through play dough, creating their own characters and scenes, and enjoyed a very special Tiger Who Came to Tea party! 🐯☕️
Through these experiences, the children developed their language, communication and listening skills while using their imaginations, expressing their ideas and having lots of fun through play.

🐻 We’re going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one 🐻

Today the children in the Stars and Rockets went on their very own bear hunt.

We created a sensory adventure using a range of different textures inspired by the story 'We’re going on a bear hunt'.

The children were supported to take off their socks and shoes to allow them to use their feet to explore the different textures.

This experience provided lots of opportunity to develop their sensory awareness, physical development and confidence. While also encouraging them to explore, make choices and learn through play.

🍇🍉🍊🍌 Snack Time 🍎🍓🍅🫑

Everyday the children are encouraged to develop their independence by serving their own snack and lunch.
The children confidently practise making their own choices by selecting the food they would like to eat and what they want to drink.
The children then use appropriate cutlery to prepeare the snacks, this week they safely spread the butter onto the crackers, showing good control and coordination.
This has been a lovely opportunity for the children to develop their independence, fine motor skills and confidence while learning important self-help skills. 🍓🍒🍉🍊

We are absolutely delighted to share with you that we were recently inspected by the Care Inspectorate and our report has now been published.

We are incredibly proud of our team, our children and our families. 💜

Our inspection recognised the dedication, care and commitment that goes into creating a happy, nurturing and supportive environment for every child.

Our inspectors commented that
“Children are happy, engaged and making progress through a range of positive play and learning experiences.”
They made a special mention about “The caring and respectful relationships children and staff had developed, supported children's wellbeing and helped them feel safe, settled and valued.”
And that “Children were happy, settled and enjoying their time at nursery. They engaged confidently in play and interacted warmly with staff.”

The inspectors also recognised that “The service has a strong culture of quality improvement, reflective practice and inclusive leadership” — something we are committed to continuing every single day.

Feedback was also gathered from our families and we received some lovely comments
“There's so much for my child to do and lots of messy play and opportunities they don't have at home. So pleased my child is socialising.”
“My child is happy that says it all. My child has lots of friends and likes Sarah's lunches too and eats everything which is not like at home.”
''We love the home cooked meals at nursery as they are all made from scratch and we have been asked to send in ideas for dinners too which is a nice personal touch as I know my child will be eating something they like”.

We are so proud of what we have achieved together — and even prouder that the children in our care are happy, settled, confident and thriving. 💜

Importance of Sand Play

Sand play is an important activity for our wee ones because it supports their physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and creative development.
