Applications for a funded early learning and childcare place for three year olds opens today.

If your child turns three between March 1 2025 and February 28 2026, they will be entitled for up to 1140 hours of free early learning and childcare starting the term following their third birthday.

The application window for the annual admissions panel will runs from today till January 17.

Morton in the community are holding free football sessions on the 7th of June in the pitch to celebrate 10 years running. All children are invited to attend a session with their parent. Sessions are:
10.00-10.45
11.00-11.45
13.00-13.45
14.00-14.45
If your child attends nursery this day the nursery team will take them along to a session.

We are delighted to feature as an inspiring example of nature-based, child led learning! Take a look around this interactive map to see how we transformed our outdoor learning with guidance form the Virtual Nature School along with many other settings across the country. With an environment as rich and diverse as ours how could we not explore every inch of it?

Take a virtual tour of selected early years settings across Scotland and see how each transformed over the course of 6 weeks in Spring 2021 when they took part in Virtual Nature School – a project funded by the Scottish Government.

Some of our staff this morning exploring schemas in our nursery garden under the guidance of our artist for the day, Charlotte from Starcatchers! We opened our minds to the possibility of using our whole bodies to explore schemas as well as introducing new and different items into our schematic play and the endless possibilities for play they presented! Some of the team from Wellington Children’s Centre also joined us and it was lovely to share some good practice and ideas with them too ☺️

Whilst the children got stuck in making their own pancakes we thought the team needed a little treat of their own! Amazing as always this pancake platter from One Cove Road was so delicious 😋 I could’ve ate it all to myself!
