OOM FINAL UPDATE:

While we strive to always avoid clashes with other events, alas, sometimes, no matter what we do, it happens. We are perfectly happy for ALL players to pick and choose where and what they play in, and if it aids their development, then great.

As regards our OOM Final at the WORLD RENOWNED ENNISCRONE GOLF CLUB, in County Sligo, players will qualify by attaining OOM points throughout the season; our qualifying criteria is open, fair, and transparent, and can be viewed on our website.

In the event that a player wants to disenfranchise themselves from our OOM, we would appreciate knowledge of that as soon as possible, as OOM points will only be apportioned to those players that are intent on trying to qualify for an experience of a lifetime on the emerald isle; believe me, it is a majestic golf course, and the people connected to the Golf Club are fantastic, and their support of the Junior Tour is just amazing.

THE RACE TO THE MACHRIE 2026 Another Place, The Machrie
24th and 25th OCTOBER

The date has now been confirmed, for this amazing event and what an opportunity for 24 of Scotlands finest young golfers.

• A 36-hole, stroke play competition played over two days with European Golf Rankings – 18 holes on Saturday 24th October and 18 holes on Sunday 25th September
• 24 Junior Golfers- 16 Boys & 8 Girls - qualifying from the following:
Top 4 Boys & Top 2 Girls from each of the Foundation events (12 Boys & 6 Girls). Top 4 Boys and Top 2 Girls from the 3 Foundations/Race to The Machrie Order of Merit who had not previously qualified. If there is duplication, we will pick next top placings in the Order of Merits

We have already had one qualifying event Alyth Golf Club The Foundations Trophy, with two more to go:

5th -7th June, Barrie Douglas Foundation Scottish Junior Masters Strathmore Golf Centre
15th – 17th June, S G F Trophy & Vase Duddingston Golf Club

The Race to The Machrie 2026

The 3 Foundations, Paul Lawrie Foundation Barrie Douglas Foundation and ourselves in conjunction with Another Place, The Machrie are excited to announce the 2026 event, to take place on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September. This event will showcase the best Scottish Junior talent who will qualify through their performances in the Foundations’ flagship events and throughout the 2026 season.
• A 36-hole, stroke play competition played over two days European Golf Rankings – 18 holes on Saturday 19th September and 18 holes on Sunday 20th September
• 24 Junior Golfers- 16 Boys & 8 Girls - qualifying from the following:

Top 4 Boys & Top 2 Girls from each of the Foundation events (12 Boys & 6 Girls). Top 4 Boys and Top 2 Girls from the 3 Foundations/Race to The Machrie Order of Merit who had not previously qualified. If there is duplication, we will pick next top placings in the Order of Merits

• Practice Round on Friday Afternoon
• Fun challenge on the 18-hole putting green ( Saturday morning) to involve all competitors plus juniors from The Machrie/Islay Golf Club.
• Accommodation & meals

Paul Lawrie Foundation, Stephen Gallacher Foundation and Barrie Douglas Foundation each host events annually, for the top young golfers throughout Scotland (and further afield) to compete against one another. Unfortunately the Paul Lawrie Foundation Jug event this year is too late to be a qualfier but another joint foundation event with Barrie Douglas Foundation and ourselves has been added to the list of qualifiers. This year we’ll introduce our own mini Order of Merit specifically for the Race to The Machrie 2026, rewarding the best performers from the three events.
The Foundation events are due to take place in the early stage of the golf season –

1st - 3rd May: The Foundations Trophy Alyth Golf Club Closing Date: 10th April

5th -7th June, BDSJ Masters Strathmore Golf Centre Closing date: 8th May

15th – 17th June, S G F Trophy & Vase Duddingston Golf Club Closing Date 15th May
