Happy Mother’s Day to all our wonderful mothers, these last 2 weeks your children have been busy making your teapot cards, and this last week baking your cookies (if you require allergen information on the ingredients used, please ask us next week) before that the children learnt about how people celebrate Chinese New Year, and made collage horses as it is the year of the horse, and we celebrated World Book Day. If you would like to book your child in over the Easter Holidays Monday 30th March till Tuesday 14th April (we will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday) please let us know. Have a lovely Mother’s Day x

Just to let you all know, the children are welcome to come dressed either in a costume or pyjamas for World Book Day either on Wednesday 4th March (the same day as Caister Primary Federation) or on Thursday 5th March which is World Book Day.

For the last few weeks we have looked at the season of Winter, the children have problem solved how to get the toy penguins out of the solid ice using different techniques, they made their season calendars which they brought home, we thought about how birds find it hard to get food in the Winter, so we made bird feeders and coloured in, or wrote the names of the birds we hoped to see at our Bird Feeders and we thought about animal habitats, the animals who love to live in the ice and snow and animals who live in hot countries. We hope you have had a nice half term break, and look forward to welcoming all the children back on Monday 23rd February.

What a busy last 4 weeks we have had, the children have been baking, making, stamping, gluing, decorating and singing, (lots of singing.) we also enjoyed lots of fun at our parties, and saw a very special visitor on Friday afternoon with the school. 🎅🏻Thank you very much on behalf of myself and all my staff for the presents we received, we are truly grateful ❤️ and we would like to wish all of our children and their families a very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we look forward to finding out what Santa is bringing them tonight when we next see them 🎄 Term starts on Monday 5th January but please be aware this will be a holiday day as funding doesn’t start till Tuesday 6th, so if your child attends on Monday it will have to be paid for. Please remember that all families (including those due to commence their funded place) must (re) confirm their details when requested by HMRC no later than 31st December. Merry Christmas x

Thank you to all the Parent's/Carers and grandparents that came to see the children over the last 3 afternoons, I am sure you will agree with myself and all the staff that they were absolutely amazing, and considering how many performances we have ended up doing this week they kept going brilliantly. Please remember that we are now having Christmas parties for the next 2 days and no lunch is required, as our way to say thank to the children party food will be provided. If you would prefer to bring something in yourself that is fine.

The week before half term the children learnt a little about Diwali and made collage diva lamps, and then last week we looked at Firework night and thought about the colours they are, the sound they make, and how to stay safe when watching fireworks. The children all contributed to a big firework display picture on paper on the tuff tray, and also made individual chalk firework pictures. Also for your information we have had a few confirmed cases of Chicken Pox at nursery.

We have had a lovely half term since we came back, we spent the first couple of weeks settling all the new children and talking about all the things our existing children have done over the summer holidays. The children have enjoyed our updated digging/gravel pit, we started off on the topic ‘All about me’, where the older children drew their families they live with, and the younger children painted self portraits, then we learnt about things we all have in common like our senses, and did some experiments about sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch, but also looked at what makes us different like the fact we all have favourite things that our unique to us. Then for the last 2 weeks we concentrated on Autumn, the children all did a brown handprint so that each class made a Autumn hedgehog using their handprints as the hedgehog’s spines, then they went on an Autumn hunt collecting leaves and this week they used them to do some leaf printing. All children should now have a Tapestry account, please let us know if you are having trouble activating it. We break up for half term this Friday and return on Monday 3rd November, if you require childcare over half term please book in so we can ensure the correct staff ratio. Thank you

It has been lovely welcoming all our children back over the last week, and of course, meeting our new children and helping them settle in to our nursery. We have been doing lots of fun activities and have started an exciting art project, (more information to follow). For the parents of the children who left us at the end of the last academic year your child’s journal is now ready to download, so if you go on your Playdays Tapestry account, and click on your name on the top right hand corner, and then click on ‘Your Downloads’ if you then scroll down you should see an option to download your child’s journal, the expiry date to download this by is the 6th December 2025, if you have any problems downloading this please let me know.

Just a reminder that any new codes or existing codes for the upcoming Autumn Term 2025 starting Wednesday 3rd September need applying for or may need renewing by the 31st August (Sunday). We are looking forward to welcoming all the children back next week.
