How Hill House, situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, was built in 1904 by the architect Edward Thomas Boardman as his family's holiday home. The house became a study centre in 1967, but ever since 1984 it has been managed by an independent charitable trust which ensures that the property is cherished. The house is surrounded by delightful Edwardian gardens, but there is also a quite separa

te woodland garden featuring a magnificent springtime display of azaleas. The How Hill windows look out over a 365 acre estate, which is a most attractive and unique Broadland landscape, including reed beds, meadows, a small broad, woodlands, a reach of the River Ant, a marshman's cottage, and restored windmills.

We have today received a kind Grant donation from Norfolk Community Foundation towards our Help Heat How Hill Campaign. Thank you so much for your support. We are now 1/3rd of the way to our goal to repair our broken heating system.

You may have heard our lovely team member, Zenda being interviewed on BBC radio Norfolk today with Kaylee.

We are in need of your help! ££££

We urgently need to raise funds to keep the house warm before autumn this year, we are an old house and our plumbing is a little more complicated than usual.

We have such a rich history here in Norfolk for schools coming to have residential stays here and we would love to continue this well into the future.
We do already have bookings for autumn and winter and we would hate to let anybody down.

So any help you can share with us would be amazing, even if it's just sharing this post to let others know where to donate.

How Hill House needs to raise £15,000 to repair critical heating systems before the cold weather sets in.
Our historic, Grade II-listed Arts and Crafts style house, was designed by the famous architect Edward T. Boardman. We rely on an intricate commercial heating system to protect its structure and keep visitors warm. Currently, our boilers are out of action. We urgently need to repair pumps, seals, and electrical components of our boilers. Without these repairs, we cannot warm our large rooms which have extremely high ceilings or provide a safe, comfortable environment for our school residential trips and adult guests who stay with us.

This time last week we were sailing back over Barton Broad aboard Wherry Hathor. We hired the wherry for two days so our guests could enjoy the peaceful and tranquil movement of this amazing sailing vessel. First day we stopped for lunch at Neatishead and on the second day we had a picnic at Barton Turf while filling up with water. Thanks to the crew from for all their hard work over the two days. During the evening the guests returned back to the house for tea and evening talks from Peter and Faye about the amazing history of wherry Hathor.
