Alexander Sargeant (Level 2) made an interview documentary exploring how AI, phones and computers affect our everyday lives — and how we can moderate our use of them. He shot on two cameras and used the razor tool to cut between angles, learning real documentary technique in the process.

Nicholas Allen (Extended Diploma, Year 2) is an aspiring game developer who's been building his own game for two years alongside his coursework — this showreel covers dev logs, character art and his best work from the course. Nicholas is heading to Norwich University of the Arts next to study Games Art & Design. We can't wait to see where this goes.

Congratulations to Leo Williams, who achieved a grade 4 in English and a double distinction in Creative Media this results day.

Leo, who previously studied at Ormiston Venture Academy, is continuing his studies on to Level 3 Creative Media with us and hopes that these results will help with his future career. Leo said: "I’m very happy with my results and have really enjoyed studying at East Coast College.”

Reuben Bush (Level 3 Year 1) made a documentary on the history of creative education in Great Yarmouth, interviewing Creative Media students about their own creative journeys. A lovely, community-rooted project that ties directly back to where our course is based.

This one's a favourite: Leo Williams (Level 2) built and designed over SIXTEEN remote-controlled combat robots — plus arenas, logos and team branding — for a robot-fighting competition series he created from scratch as his Final Major Project. Proof our students bring serious engineering and design skills to "Mind and Machine."

Oliver Ellett (Extended Diploma, Year 2) explored the theme "Illusion" by following a character across days that start to blur together — inspired by the short film "The Loop." A thoughtful, technically confident piece from one of our Year 2 students.
