Once a Dragon, always a Dragon... and the show images start. My thanks to Maxine for the location photos last month, and now we have those taken by Maddie yesterday during the rehearsal afternoon. We have a lot to get through and ALL OF YOU have some lovely images... But to start with we have Alice1 and the Caterpillars, just Chillin'.

In keeping with all of our important notifications, this is probably the most important of all.
The show on the 6th July will be the final production for the Dragons Stage School as I will be retiring this summer.
I have worked with young people from the area, at St.George's, Caister High School and, of course Filby for the past 30yrs and many things have changed, I have got older... obviously, and having additional responsibilities now as a full time carer means I am not able to give the school all of the time that it needs.
That said, we have a good number of committed young members this term, a few have become good friends over the years, while others have only recently joined, and I hope, by working extra hard together, harder than ever before, we can make Alice a fitting and spectacular end project for the group. I will 'throw everything' at this show, set build, extra rehearsals if needed, lighting and of course our beloved smoke and squeaky table, please do the same as I would like an extra special production this time.
It is bound to be an emotional time, but it had to come sometime and we have a strong cast that I know will all pull together to make the next few months very special indeed.

FREE OPEN SESSION FOR NEW STUDENTS AND EXISTING DRAGONS to explain a new, musical play based on 'Alice in Wonderland'.
Dragons Stage School are holding a short OPEN SESSION THIS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 16th at Filby Village Hall, 4.30 to 5.30 to explain the show to parents and students. ALL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE.
Following on from Matilda, Shrek, Aladdin and most recently their successful variety show, Heroes and Villains, the school is now looking for children to join the existing Dragons and bring this production to life!
The show will be at St.George's Theatre on Sunday 6th July. All rehearsals are held Sundays, 4.00-7.00 at Filby Village Hall. There is a £6 fee for each 3hr session, which is fully inclusive of all scripts, music, costumes and props required. Joining the school also allows extra free performances at local fetes and carnivals throughout 2025. Email [email protected] if further information is required. Dragons Stage School has been teaching performance and theatre skills to local children for over 30yrs and it is with thanks to our sponsors since Covid that we have been able to equip the young people that have treated us like family, for the challenges of working in a modern theatre environment. Our target before the end of this year will be to supply personal microphones to each of the 30 children, enabling them to perform anywhere.
