Tremendous Burgh Castle Nordic Walk this morning, Thank You to The Queen's Head Burgh Castle for allowing us to use your car park. We did a lovely ‘loop’ walk going through woodland, across fields and boardwalks, and then along the Norfolk Broads. The weather was a bit muggy, but it was noticeably cooler than previous weeks. Everyone enjoyed being out in nature and we were treated to lots of wildlife including Swans and Herons, as always, lots of banter and interesting discussions…Thank You

Burgh Castle doesn’t fail to impress..stunning weather today as we went through the village and after a warm up and stretch, headed along the Norfolk Broads. We saw plenty of wildlife including some big fish, believed to be mullet, basking on the surface, we then had a heated debate about Englands national bird, which I can now confirm is indeed the European Robin ! We then diverted through a lovely stretch of wood giving some wonderful shade, met a very friendly dog, who seemed to want to join in with us, then headed back for a stretch out and cool down..great walk…Thank You

Really tough Nordic Walking session this morning, the shoreline was covered with stones and the sand beyond was super soft which made the going really tough in some intense heat. We diverted up onto the promenade which was roundly appreciated. It was really nice walking back along Marine Parade seeing all the businesses opening up and looking ready for action. Lots of chatting and discussions as always. And great to have a new walker join us on what was one of the most challenging walks yet..Thank You

Well ! That was an amazing Nordic Walk at Burgh Castle…Firstly, Thank You to everyone at the wonderful pub The Queen's Head Burgh Castle for allowing us to use your car park this morning and Thank You to, local girl, Victoria for organising. Victoria then guided us through some wonderful countryside along the Norfolk Broads, pointing out a huge amount of wildlife including avocets, curlews, harriers, herons, deer and much more, she also spotted a shed snake skin and the highlight was a family of swans with 6 cygnets…the walk was superb, lovely and flat with a nice temperature and breeze. As always lots of chatting and dissecting of Englands World Cup exit (still not happy)..we ended up at the historic Roman Castle which is apparently haunted, so we are looking at doing a ‘head torch’ walk to see if we can feel any presence from the past…All in all…top walk..Thank You

Not many pictures today ! But some lovely nature..The tide and beach wasn’t kind, zero sand along the break and lose stones wasn’t an option..moving up a few feet we entered super soft sand so decided to move into the dunes and heathland. It was really hard going but we saw some wonderful plants and we were drawn to the 100’s of nesting Little Terns and their wonderful songs (keeping well away from the fences)..the weather was lovely and as always plenty of chatting, I was delighted to be able to say I was the only one to ‘back’ England against Mexico last week…then the wonderful Norwegians bowed out to us last night…Fingers crossed 🤞… next Sunday we will be looking forward to England in the World Cup Final ! …Only Argentina…no problems or history with that one ! Thank You

Wonderful Nordic Walk this morning. The weather was described as perfect and near perfect, warm with a nice breeze. The tide had been kind and left us with a firm shoreline to walk down towards the Wellington Pier and then back along the promenade. Several ships were anchored offshore and a few fisher people and detectorists along the beach. Some classic (ish) cars and a walk round the lovely Waterways were all very enjoyable..It was non stop talking from start to finish, covering subjects like books, oil prices, t’ai chi, Sunday Roasts, bees in lofts and of course…The World Cup…amazingly I was the only person to predict an England win…Mexico are firm favourites with everyone else…Good luck England ! Thank You

After last weeks superb Nordic Walk we decided to do it again. Meeting at Caister Lifeboat we headed out to the beach and really nice weather..the warm up was full of conversation with ‘Take That’ on the agenda and Gary Barlow took the ‘best band member’ award with Robbie Williams, somewhat controversially taking the wooden spoon! The beach was a mixture of firm sand, pebbles and soft sand, G and J set a mighty pace and really impressed with their techniques. We had a ‘cool wind in our hair, with the warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air’ so we headed up the cliffs into California, and back along some beautiful countryside, even holidaying dogs were interested in our progress. We passed Caister Holiday Camp, the oldest and best camp in the UK and back to Caister for a cool down..plenty of laughs, conversations, seals, fresh air, exercise, generally a great walk..Thank You

Today’s Nordic Walk, along the was probably in the top 5 since we started ! The weather was perfect, sunny with a cool breeze coming off the sea. The beach was also perfect as we headed down to Scratby and California, it was so good that everyone wanted to walk back the same way. Lots of discussions as always as we walked, today’s topics included books and how many you read on holiday and arrangements for a 60th birthday! Everyone kept going at a good pace and there was lots to see along the path. We had timed the walk to coincide with the 10am launch of Caister Lifeboat, unfortunately we had some old information and missed the 9am launch ! But that was a minor hiccup on what was a Red Letter Nordic Walk..Thank You
