🚪🏃‍♀️🏃 ESCAPE ROOMS
Yesterday our Sixth Formers were treated to a rewards trip at the Escape Hunt in Norwich. Packed with excitement, our students leaped into new worlds completing ground-breaking missions. Working as a team to find clues, solve puzzles and complete challenges before the time runs out. One of our Teams even managed to make it to the top of the LEADERBOARD in The Dalek Awakens!

💻COMPUTER SCIENCE
Here at Sir Isaac Newton East, you will develop an understanding of, and the ability to apply, the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, decomposition, logic, algorithms, and data representation. Through practical experience of solving such problems, including writing programs you will analyse problems in computational terms.

♻️🌍👩‍🔬 EDF ENERGY
Here at Sir Isaac Newton we had EDF Energy come to visit our Year 12s to talk to them about opportunities in the nuclear power industry at Sizewell, we were lucky enough to have the EDF Renewables Team come from London to run some STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) workshops for the Sir Isaac Newton East scientists. They heard about how wind turbines work as well as the EDF scientists’ own career paths.

👨‍🏫LEAD SIXTH FORM TUTOR
Mr Burton relocated from the Midlands to join Sir Isaac Newton East, having worked previously for over 13 years teaching and supporting sixth formers in both school and FE settings and in a range of roles. His wider role at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy is as Head of Social Science, delivering Psychology and Sociology at both A Level and GCSE.

In 2023, Mr Burton will also be introducing a Criminology course to Sir Isaac Newton East.

Exam certificates are available to be collected, these are available to be collected until Tues 13th December 2022 from GYCA.
If you are unable to collect the certificates yourself, please write a letter clearly stating the name of the person you give permission to collect on your behalf and sign it. The person collecting your certificates will need to bring the signed letter with them and some photographic ID.

Here at Sir Isaac Newton East, the NCS (National Citizen Service) team create a space where young people can become world ready and work ready, and raise their voice to make a positive difference together. Where they can explore who they are and who they want to be, with no fear of judgement or failure.

The NCS team have been with us over the last 15 sessions providing skill-boosting sessions to our students. On top of this schedule, there may be visiting speakers or opportunities for workplace visits.

📚STEM SPECIALIST SIXTH FORM

🧪CHEMISTRY
A level chemistry describes and explains the behaviour of matter, it discusses techniques used to identify ‘new substances’ and explores industrial methods of synthesising useful substances including medicines. In addition you will learn about the interaction of matter and energy and how to control reactions including important industrial reactions.
