JOY LAND - an exhibition of artworks by pupils from Great Yarmouth Primary Academy

Join us for JOY LAND, an exhibition of drawings, paintings, prints, sculptures and maquettes created by pupils from Great Yarmouth Primary Academy.

The exhibition presents work made during a six-month artist residency by Anna Brass , who worked with pupils through a series of creative workshops exploring the infrastructure of Great Yarmouth, its history and heritage, and its possible futures. Through drawing, making and imagining, the pupils explored the place they live and the many ways it might change and grow.

Inspired by the pupils’ work, Anna also created a mural for the school playground, bringing their ideas and creativity into the everyday life of the school. The mural was made with the help of artists Edan , CJ Jay Goodbrave , Emma Crafts with Heart and Tavis Tavis Gray , who have studio spaces at PrimeYarc, managed by originalprojects; .

A film documenting the making of the mural will also be on display. It was filmed and produced by Mike Goddard , capturing the process of bringing the project to life. There will also be photographic portraits of some if the students by Debby Besford Debby Besford

JOY LAND celebrates the imagination, perspectives and creativity of young people, offering a glimpse into how they see Great Yarmouth today and how they might imagine it tomorrow.

Come and discover the ideas, images and possibilities that emerged from this collaborative project and see the having potential outcomes of having an artist-in-residence in a school.

Anna Brass is an artist based in Norwich whose work is exhibited internationally. She also has a studio at Stonecutters Studios, managed by originalprojects.

🧵 Stitch it Up! - Sewing Support Sessions with Tracy & CJ! 🪡

Got a sewing project you started but never finished? A piece you’ve been meaning to get around to? Stuck on a tricky bit, or just in need of a little help, advice or inspiration to get going again?
Bring it along to Stitch It Up!

Tracy & CJ Jay Goodbrave will be on hand to help you work through those sewing dilemmas, make progress on unfinished projects, and hopefully get those long-abandoned creations over the finish line!

Whether you’re mending, making, altering or finally tackling that project that’s been sitting in a bag for months, this is a relaxed, friendly session to share skills, swap ideas and get stitching together.

🧵 Bring along your project and any materials you’ve already got.

✂️ All abilities welcome — whether you’re an experienced stitcher or just need a helping hand to get unstuck.

Come along, get sewing, and let’s stitch it up!

There'll be a second session the following week - Saturday 24 October - so if you need a bit more time to continue you can come along then too.

We’re excited to announce the first Agora Now East Anglia micro-residency in partnership with in Woodbridge.

This is the first step toward a long-term partnership between Agora Now and Farlingaye Creative Arts department. We are at the beginning of a journey in and developing our third international hub along the and coastline which will include residencies for artists in different locations across the region.

We’ll be clearing away the dog’s mercury, tidying up the garden and getting things ready for the changing season.

An inspirational visit to MANIFESTA 16 Manifesta Biennial which presented work in 12 post-war churches across the Ruhr region.

Much art, stained glass, door handles, pews, organs, sound, games, non-games, inflatables, gathering, and thinking.
