Year 5 have been on their first aid course today and we have learnt so much! ⛑ We learnt all about CPR, defibrillators, asthma attacks, minor cuts and injuries allergic reactions. What a fun yet extremely informative day!
What a fantastic day Year 5 have had with their Stone Age to Iron Age ELE visitors!
Our visitors were especially impressed with the questions from the children who really had a brilliant day learning lots and being immersed into this prehistoric era!

The new school year is almost here! 🏫 This is such a great idea - draw a heart on your hand and your little one's, charge it up by holding hands and tell them that if they feel sad or miss you while at school to press the hug button and it will send you a hug - likewise, you can send your little one a big squeeze by touching the heart on your hand!

Hello everyone! It's Claire Ball (Mrs Ball) Firstly, I wanted to say a big thank you for making my time at Landywood so amazing! I have had the best 14 years and the children are at the centre of all of this! Thank you to everyone for so many kind words, cards and gifts, I will miss you all.

The Lapworth museum of Geology is located in the Aston Webb building at Aston University. They have galleries and interactive exhibits on rocks, fossils, volcanoes, earthquakes and dinosaurs. Free entry to all ages.
Birmingham Museum and Art gallery is free entry for all featuring displays from the Anglo-Saxon’s and Ancient Egypt.
The Ikon gallery is free entry to all and an internationally acclaimed, contemporary art venue located in central Birmingham.

Years 5 and 6 had a brilliant time camping on the school field last night!
From a tasty tea to camp fire songs- it really was a fantastic experience for our children- one which can be ticked off on their Landywood Passport!

landywoodschool The Nursery children have been celebrating their success this year with a Garden Party. We are all so incredibly proud of them all. They have all been amazing this year.
The children in Reception were so confident when performing in front of their families during our graduation ceremony on Wednesday. They learnt several songs and said what they want to be when they grow up. We were really proud of them! Good luck in year 1!
The four house teams have had a fantastic day celebrating all of their achievements this year. They enjoyed having a water fight, an inflatable session, forest time, time on the field to play sports, and an ice-cream/ice-lolly from the ice-cream van. 😁

They have spent the day learning all about WW2 as well as participating in some drama and even experiencing what an air raid would be like!

The Year 2 children enjoying a range of activities during their recent visit to Dodford Farm. Children took part in a range of activities from animals feeds to water fights, long walks to picnics and even got to try barbecued bananas ! The children represented Landywood so well , we are extremely proud of them.

Well done to all of our musicians who took part in the spectacular event.
On Wednesday 6th July, at Great Wyrley Academy, we had our Music Extravaganza concert.
It was so wonderful to have everybody back performing on such a large scale, in a large auditorium.
200 pupils performed a variety of instruments including steel pan, ukulele, glockenspiel, brass, violin and recorder. We also had a performance from our school choir. At the end of the concert pupils performed En mass in a huge 200 pupil orchestra, which was a big achievement. Thank you to all of the adults that were able to join us to watch and to celebrate the musical progress and talents of the children.
The children have worked hard all year long and it was fantastic to see how much progress they have made and the standard of performance was high, we are very proud of every child that took part.
Nursery have had a fantastic day at Cannock Chase. We have learnt about different animals and insects and what they like to eat. We then went into the forest and made homes for the Teddy’s. #outdoorlearning
Year 1 have had a fantastic time at today. They have learnt all about the type of castle it was, how to make a medieval coin and a lavender bag.
Our KS1 Tennis club inspired by starting this week🎾
Congratulations to our kitchen team for maintaining a 5* food hygiene rating!
Our Treehouse Club children really enjoyed spending time in our library with an after school iPad and reading session!
Treehouse Club provides families with before and after school care for Landywood children from Reception to Year 6.

Great Wyrley primary school pupils send vanload of supplies to Ukraine Primary school pupils in Great Wyrley have come together to load a van full of crucial supplies in support of the people of Ukraine.
This year’s competition is taking place on Thursday 9th June.
