Area Manager for Bristol and Bath, Charlie, was lucky enough to attend the recent KATS ceremony at Kingswood School in Bath, which was held to celebrate their artistically talented students.
"It was a wonderful, well organised event which, like every event at Kingswood, really encapsulated the warm , welcoming and inclusive spirit of the school - such a fun and inspiring evening! It was lovely to be there for my 2 students, Anju and Ryoga, as they had their moment walking down the red carpet!"

Pippa's Area Managers are always more than happy to treat their students during the tough exam period, and last week Charlie, AM for Bristol and Bath, took GCSE student Sara from Stonar School out for lunch. They had a lovely catch up and Sara was proud and excited to share that a fabulous photo of her horse riding had featured in an advert for the Cotswold Cup. Well done Sara!

As the school year draws to a close our Area Managers are catching up with their students - some for the final time before they leave school for good. AM for Shropshire, Gilly, recently enjoyed meeting up with her upper sixth Shrewsbury School student Claire, whilst she was on study leave.

Jesse from The Leys School, Cambridge recently took part in the National Schools’ Regatta rowing competition at Dorney Lake in Eton, and Area Manager Debbie was his chaperone and cheerleader for the day!
"The event is the UK’s premiere rowing event for junior rowers and attracts over 5,000 competitors aged 14 to 18 years. This was a fabulous opportunity for Jesse and his rowing partner, on a beautifully sunny day at the lake that hosted the Olympic and Paralympic rowing in 2012. Jesse enjoyed taking part and I enjoyed supporting him and cheering him on to the finish line!"
Well done Jesse 👏🎉

Jun from Sandroyd School had a wonderful half term stay with his Pippa's host family. He improved his cooking skills, and on the final day took part in the Green Power Challenge with his team from Sandroyd at Castle Coombe Race circuit. He has ambitions to work in F1! 🏎🏅

What is it like to host an international student? Read our latest blog post, written by host family Katrina Sands, to find out. The Sands family have been hosting Pippa’s Guardians students for over two years. In that time they have hosted a number of different students from various schools and colleges close to where they live in Berkshire.

This is Niki Ross who is celebrating the amazing milestone of 5 years hosting international students with Pippa's!
Many of our students have stayed with Niki in rural Somerset and have loved their time with her. One student in particular, Kieran, has been staying with Niki regularly for the past 4 years and they are such good friends now that Niki will be very sorry indeed to see him go off to university later this year!
Thank you to Niki and to all of our host families, who continue to provide such welcoming homes away from home for our young students. We appreciate you all 😍

Could you provide a home‑from‑home for an international student?
We’re looking for caring, welcoming families to join our network of host families for the international students we support. These young people study in UK boarding schools and occasionally need somewhere safe and friendly to stay during school holidays, half‑terms, and weekend exeats.
If you have a spare room, a warm household, and a genuine interest in offering support to a young person far from home, you could make a real difference.
What we offer:
- Generous hosting rates to recognise your time and commitment
- Full support from our team whenever you need it
- Rigorous safeguarding checks for everyone’s peace of mind
- A chance to provide stability, kindness, and a sense of belonging to a student who may be thousands of miles from their family
What we’re looking for:
- A spare bedroom
- A caring, responsible attitude
- A willingness to welcome a young person into your home for short stays throughout the school year
Becoming a host family isn’t just about providing a room - it’s about offering comfort, connection, and a safe space when it matters most. Many host families tell us it’s one of the most rewarding experiences they’ve had.
If you think you could open your home and heart, we’d love to hear from you: [email protected] or 01684 252757
