OM CLUB // Congratulations to the OM Cricket Club who are through to the second round of the Beechbrook Capital Cricketer Cup after a nail-biting one-wicket victory over the Old Rugbeians on 14th June 🏏

Chasing 239, OMCC found themselves in trouble at 92–6 before a superb fightback turned the game on its head. With just one wicket remaining and seven runs needed, the tension peaked… Step forward Josh Dickenson – who held his nerve to smash the winning boundary in the final over, finishing unbeaten on 38 and sealing a dramatic 242–9 victory!

This was a fantastic team effort - thank you to: Olly Cox (5.17-22), Ben Clarke (9.19-24), Josh Haynes (5.12-17), Liam Smith (5.10-15), Joel Cox (5.18-23), Dan Holland (SH.15-20), Myles Holland (SH.17-22), Josh Leach (SH.23-25) and Josh Dickenson (9.16-21), Joe Harrison (5.20-25), Alex Milton (5.10-14) and Freddie Wynn (7.10-15).

NEWS // Has anyone else spotted Mark Pougatch (2.81–86) doing a brilliant job presenting ITV's FIFA World Cup coverage?

From his calm authority to his sharp insights and natural rapport with guests, he really brings the whole broadcast together and keeps everything flowing seamlessly. It’s not easy anchoring such a huge global event, but he makes it look effortless.

We’re so proud to see him fronting such a major event and representing the very best of sports broadcasting. He’s doing an outstanding job and deserves all the recognition coming his way! πŸ™Œβš½

THROWBACK // We are fondly remembering our gathering of the Malvernian community in Vienna earlier this year. More than 50 OMs, parents and guests joined us in March for an evening of drinks and conversation at Collina am Berg – a stylish venue owned by Tono Soravia (1.12–14).

Rebecca Merrett, Advancement Director, and Louise Townsend, Senior Development Officer from the Malvernian Society were joined by the Headmaster, Keith Metcalfe, to host the evening; the trio were also in Vienna to attend a dinner at the Liechtenstein City Palace to launch an exciting new fundraising initiative for Malvern College. More news on this to follow!

The evening was filled with lively conversations and meaningful connections - and if you find yourself in Vienna, we can wholeheartedly recommend Collina am Berg – whether for a drink, dinner, or simply to enjoy its welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for hosting us, Tono.

Vienna, we will be back πŸ’š

NEWS // We were delighted to bring together Old Malvernians and Ellerslie Old Girls for a vibrant Creative Industries networking evening in London last week.

From marketing and media to design, performing arts, architecture and creative technology, it was fantastic to see such a diverse mix of alumni connecting, collaborating and sharing ideas in a relaxed and engaging setting.

A highlight of the evening was an inspiring talk from our host for the evening, Adrian Coleman (2.76–81), Co-Founder and Group Executive Chairman of VCCP, who offered fascinating insights into the ever-evolving communications landscape. From VCCP’s growth into a global agency of 1,600+ people to the stories behind iconic campaigns like Cadbury, Virgin Media O2 and the famous meerkats, it was both insightful and entertaining.

Guests also heard from VCCP’s Innovation Lead, Pete Gasston, who explored the growing impact of AI on the creative industries - sparking plenty of discussion about what the future holds.

Even tube strikes and an unexpected fire alarm couldn’t dampen the energy, with new connections made and conversations flowing throughout the evening.
A brilliant turnout, including many new faces, highlighted the strength and creativity of the Malvernian network. A big thank you to everyone who attended πŸ‘
