NEWS //πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈ 50 years on, the Malvern connection remains!

It was wonderful to help Chris Hewitt (6.72-74) and Guy Woods (6.72-76) reconnect after more than 50 years.

Both joined No.6 in 1972 and, remarkably, still recognised each other when they finally met up again! There was plenty of catching up to do and no doubt a few memories of their Malvern days were shared along the way.

A lovely reminder that friendships made at Malvern can last a lifetime. πŸ’™

OM Club //🏏 OMs reach the Cricketer Cup Final in dramatic fashion

What a day at Arundel! The Old Malvernians fought all the way in a thrilling Beechbrook Capital Cricketer Cup Final against the Old Cliftonians.

After bowling Clifton out for 228, the OMs matched their total in the final over, taking the match to a dramatic Super Over. Despite scoring eight, Clifton edged ahead to claim the Cup.

A heartbreaking result, but a fantastic achievement after an outstanding season, with wins over Rugby, Harrow, Bradfield and Wellington along the way.

If matches were decided on the incredible support that every OM match garnered, we’d have won by 10 wickets!

Congratulations to our OMs – Peter Clare-Hunt (2, 66-70) and David Price (7, 69-73), who were inducted into the 1980’s Cricketer Cup Hall of Fame.

A huge thank you to the players, supporters, Patrons Club and everyone behind the scenes for another memorable OMCC campaign. πŸ’™πŸ

OM CLUB //🎯 OM R***e Club at Bisley

It was wonderful to see the OM R***e Club back together at the annual Veterans Match at Bisley on Thursday 16 July. Some members of the group have been shooting together since their school days in the 1980s, and it was particularly special to be joined by their former schoolmaster, Frank Harris.

The OM A Team finished 15th out of 39 teams, scoring an impressive 235.14. The team also enjoyed a dinner together in the Club House, making it a fantastic day of shooting, friendship and reminiscing.

A wonderful day on the river for Patrick and Robert, as they enjoyed three stretches of the River Avon in warm and sunny conditions.
Despite low water levels, Patrick soon got back into the rhythm after a year away from fishing, with plenty of conversation and memories shared along the way.
A great example of OMs reconnecting through a shared passion for fishing. 🎣

EVENT // 🌍 Malvern in Cape Town

It was wonderful to bring the Malvernian community together in Cape Town on Sunday 2nd August, with OMs joining pupils and Director of Sport Mark Hardinges and Director of Rugby Nick Tisdale while on their rugby tour of South Africa.

Our current pupils enjoyed meeting OMs, sharing stories and hearing how Malvern has changed over the years. We were also delighted to see former Headmaster Antony Clark.
Thank you to everyone who joined us – we hope to be back in Cape Town again soon!

NEWS // 🏏 School House Past & Present at Taunton 🏏

The Somerset vs Warwickshire Metro Bank One Day Cup match on Sunday 26th July was a fantastic showcase of School House talent, with current pupils and Old Malvernians represented on both sides.

Congratulations to Charlie T, who made his professional debut for Warwickshire First XI at just 16 years old – a remarkable milestone. Charlie was there with brothers Ed T and Max T, all proudly representing School House.

Old Malvernians were also making their mark, with:
🏏 JT Langridge (SH. 22-24) playing for Somerset 1st XI
πŸ“Š Aaron Tomson (SH. 15-22) supporting Somerset as part of the club's performance analysis team
🏏 Zen Malik (5. 11-16) representing Warwickshire 1st XI

Somerset came away convincing winners, posting 337/8 before bowling Warwickshire out for 212, securing a 125-run victory.

It's wonderful to see current pupils and OMs continuing to make their mark in the professional game while supporting one another along the way.

It's an exciting week for women's cricket, and we're delighted to support two fantastic events involving our Old Malvernian community.

Congratulations to Katherine Cameron (nΓ©e Eglington, 6. 92–94) and the Colwall Cricket Club Women's team, who remain unbeaten this season! OM CLUB // The OM Fly Fishing Club recently enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the River Taw and East Lyn, where spectacular scenery came with more than a few challenges!

Navigating the rugged valley paths proved almost as demanding as the fishing itself, with trails soaring up to 200 feet above the river before dropping back down to the water’s edge. But perseverance paid off as members discovered some excellent stretches of fishable water and landed several beautiful brown trout.

Beyond the fishing, the club was captivated by the stunning surroundings and the charm of Lynmouth and Lynton. A special thank you goes to Sam Glover (5.90-92), who generously hosted the group from his Lynmouth base and made a flying start to his dry fly fishing career.

Thank you, Sam, for giving the OMFFC the opportunity to explore this remarkable corner of Devon. We’re already looking forward to hearing about the next adventure!
