🌿 Binoculars at the ready… Reception are going WILD! 🐒🦁

Some of our Reception children became jungle explorers today, heading off on a very important mission with Miss Downs and Mr Stevely to spot some rather wild characters! 🔎🌴

But simply spotting the animals wasn’t enough… our explorers had to move like them too! From stomping and stretching to crawling, balancing and plenty of enthusiastic animal impressions. 🐘🐍🐒

Behind all the jungle fun was an important challenge, helping to develop their coordination, balance, strength and occupational skills through movement and play.

Who knew being a jungle explorer could be such a workout? 😂

Just look at our little adventurers in action! What a wonderfully wild way to start the new term. 💛🌿

🎬 Hold onto your seats… we’re famous! 💙

We recently had a very special visit from , where our pupil Arun gave viewers a grand tour of our Greenpower Goblin electric car project! ⚡🏎️

Arun explained how the car works, shared what goes into building it and even took it for a spin to demonstrate how it races on the track!

A huge well done to Arun for being such a brilliant Greenpower presenter and representing our school so confidently. 👏💙

Welcome back!

The summer break has come to an end, and we’re delighted to warmly welcome back all our pupils, staff and parents as we begin a brand-new academic year!

At Leicester Grammar School Trust, our thoughts are with the families and staff affected by the recent news concerning a local school.

We understand that this will be an unsettling and uncertain time for many children and parents.

Although our summer term has now ended, our Admissions team will be available throughout this week to support families who are exploring educational options for September.

Our littlest learners recently enjoyed an adventure-filled day designed to challenge their curiosity, confidence and courage! 🌟

Throughout the day, the children rotated through a series of exciting activities, including a treasure hunt packed with clues and a special surprise at the finish, energetic sports challenges in the hall, a fun-filled music session, and an unforgettable animal encounter.

From meeting fascinating reptiles and spiders to cuddling fluffy guinea pigs, our pupils stepped outside their comfort zones, asked brilliant questions and showed incredible bravery throughout the day.

What a wonderful way to develop problem-solving skills, resilience and confidence through hands-on learning and plenty of fun! 🕷️🐍🐹✨

🏃‍♂️🏅 Did somebody say Sports Week?!

Sports Week has officially arrived at LGS Junior and, if the smiles are anything to go by, excitement levels are already sky-high!

To kick off what promises to be a fantastic week of activity, teamwork and friendly competition, the whole school came together for an energising warm-up led by our dedicated Sports Department. After weeks of planning and preparation, it was wonderful to see pupils and staff bringing so much enthusiasm and energy to the start of the week.

A huge thank you to our Sports Department for all their hard work behind the scenes, and to our pupils for getting involved with such positivity and spirit.

We can't wait to see what the rest of Sports Week has in store! 💙💛

📚🍪 A very special afternoon for our LGJS Book Club!

Today, we were delighted to welcome Mrs Alyissa Chapman, one of only 14 official Carnegie judges in the country, to spend time with Mrs Davies and our enthusiastic young readers.

The children enjoyed sharing their favourite books, discussing the shortlisted titles, and learning more about the important role Mrs Chapman plays in selecting the Judges’ Choice winner. Alongside some well-earned biscuits and treats, pupils also took part in a creative challenge set by Mrs Chapman, drawing and creating as they chatted all things books and reading.

It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate a love of literature, spark thoughtful discussion, and inspire our young readers. Thank you, Mrs Chapman, for such a memorable visit! 📖✨
