Pirates! It was a long (scorching!) Summer and our theme was Pirates! We enjoyed books and small world play. We made Pirates faces and ships focusing on shapes. We painted parrots and threaded cups to make seagulls. We explored sand tubs filled with treasure; making our own treasure chests to take home and sandy/sparkling treasure chest pictures! We looked at shells and the patterns they made in playdough....oh and had trips to the beach! 🪎☠️🦜🐚⛵️

Always love a zoo trip which is why I have a pass! One day was a quiet one with just two little Cuties, but the next trip was busy with six (including my own!) So many great animals to see and therefore lots of fantastic chats and learning! 😍

I love a day out...especially during the Summer holidays! However you may spot because different children come on different days I often do the same trip twice...I hate that some miss out! Last week I spent two fabulous days at Frinton, loving my job! The children, splashed, dug, paddled, jumped, built (and destroyed) castles....we also a lovely walk along the esplandade! 🌞

We've not done too badly this year with our growing, despite the heatwaves we've managed to grow strawberries, tomatoes and small carrots (which the rabbits loved!) The cucumber, pumpkins and courgettes are still growing so fingers crossed🤞 ☀️🌦

Happy Father's Day! We have talked about Daddies a lot recently and enjoyed acting out how they play and look after us through role play and small play. We made 'pizza me' cards and rosette badges for our Daddies 😍

We've spent a few weeks learning about our emotions through The Colour Monster. We read the story and practised showing the different emotions. We used a mirror to help see our own expressions and made faces with magnets and playdough. We also sorted colours using our fine motor control tools; red = angry, blue = sad, yellow = happy, black = scared, green = calm and pink = love
