Our doors will be opening soon and we are sooo excited for the Autumn Term 🍁🍂
Tomorrow is a non-pupil day and then on Wednesday we will be meeting our new starters and welcoming them to our Preschool family.
On Thursday our doors will open and the Autumn Term begins, yay!!! 🙌 🎉

The lovely Emma, who teaches our yoga sessions at preschool, will be running Summer Holiday Yoga Workshops.

The children absolutely love Emma’s sessions, and she has such a great way of making yoga fun, calming and engaging for everyone. We know many of our preschool children really look forward to seeing her each week, so we couldn’t recommend her workshops more!

Some exciting activities have taken place at Preschool over the past few weeks 😃 We have been cooking and making yummy chocolate orange biscuits for National Biscuit Day 🍪 and we had STEM week where the children took part in experiments including measuring, floating and UV lights 🧫🔬🚤
We released our butterflies after watching their amazing life cycle from tiny caterpillars, to forming their chrysalises and then emerging as beautiful butterflies 🦋
We also had some more animal friends visit us with the lovely Susie from Tesco,Indian Runner Ducks. They came during Father’s Day week so even a Daddy got to see them too when he visited. The children (and the Daddy) enjoyed learning about them and were able to give them a stroke too ☺️🦆
Finally we had our own sporting event of the year, Preschool Sports Day 2026!! Our rising 5s took part in various races and we finished off the fun with our entertaining parent races too. Well done to everyone who took part 👏 🏃‍♀️🏃

World Cup fever is arriving 🥵⚽️

We'll be holding a World Cup Sweepstake to help raise funds for the Preschool. Entry is just £2 per team. Simply pick a team from our lucky dip and see how far they can go in the tournament.

The winner will receive a mini England football and a FIFA teddy bear. Thank you for your support and good luck!!

Thank you to Saffron Walden Town FC for running this fundraising event. If you are looking for something to do this Friday evening then pop along for some fun whilst raising money for our Preschool ❤️

We host the final game between the Chairman’s XI vs Great Chesterford legends.
2024 Chesterford Won
2025 Walden Won
2026 ????

So these games have raised just under £1400 and hopefully Friday night we can get it to £2000 total

It’s been for a great cause and hope you can all get down. Bar will be open until late and it looks to be a lovely evening ☀️🍻

Happy 100th Birthday to Sir David Attenborough!! 🎉

We celebrated today by caring for our animals and also practising to be the next Sir David on TV. Even Chester Bear presented his own wildlife documentary! 🐻📺

We also have our own lifecycle happening at preschool as our caterpillars are now in their cocoons. The children have named them Harvey, Belle, Scarlett, Charlie and Rose 🐛🦋

It was Earth Day last week so the children made some beautiful Earth pictures adding a heart to show that we love our Earth ❤️ 🌍. The children made a seed viewer so they can watch they seed sprout roots and their own magic beanstalk (or broad beans to us). 🌱
We also celebrated St George’s Day and the children made flags and shields and we told the story of St George and the dragon 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🐉

We’re back on Tuesday for the start of Summer Term and have lots planned for the children🎉 It will be goodbye to the amazing Spring display to make room for summer crafts. ☀️
At the end of last term we celebrated Easter with an Easter Hat Parade 🐰🐣 The children created fantastic hats and made us proud with their singing of Easter songs at the end of the parade. The lovely senior residents of the village visited us for singing and crafts with the children and were treated to a hot cross bun and tea afterwards. ☕️It’s always lovely to see them.
We then ended the week with an Easter egg hunt in the garden 🍫😋
