Songbirds Pre School Music

Some of you current and grown up songbirds may be returning to nursery or school over the coming weeks. If you are, this is a lovely story to explain to children how and why things might look and feel a little different at the moment.

If you haven't seen my back to school story yet here it is again.

This story allows you to talk about how things are to be run in your school. Have heard of hubs, bubbles, pods and no doubt there are other words but I have gone for bubbles because this seems to be the most popular term for the groups children will be in.

This is for the children and to help them feel welcome back to school. It is also written taking into account the government guidance.

Since we haven’t been able to meet in person, songbirds classes have moved online. We have formed songbirds tin pot band with all proceeds going directly to Friends of Thomas's Fund

Hoping all those waiting on school placement offers received good news today.

Our very own littlest Songbird was very excited to receive an email (via mummy) this morning to say she could start school in September. She has spent the day running me through all the things she needs to have in order to start school! At the top of the list were school shoes and a book bag!!

Hi All,

Hope you are all keeping well in these uncertain and ever changing times. I wanted to let you know what we’ve been up to.

As you know, Songbirds pre school music classes would normally take place in Great Bowden Village Hall on Tuesday mornings. At the moment, we’re not able to meet face to face so are meeting virtually each week to do some singing, dancing and music making!

I am running these online classes on a donations only basis, with money going directly to Thomas’s Fund, a charity based in Northamptonshire that provides music therapy for children with life limiting and/or life threatening conditions.

Please donate what you’re able to (using the link below) and grab your pots, pans and wooden spoons and come and join us.

We are meeting at our usual time of 9.30am on a Tuesday morning.

🌟CORONAVIRUS UPDATE🌟

In light of this evening’s government briefing advising that we limit all non essential contact, I have decided to halt songbirds classes until further notice.

I have plans for an online ‘Songbirds tin pot band’ so watch this space for further info on how you can take part in this.

I had the most amazing time last night watching one our our original songbirds (now grown up and in school!) performing with The Core Dance Company.

It was absolutely fabulous and so lovely to see so many children dancing, performing and having the best time ever engaging in the arts.

The Arts, whether dance, music, drama to name a few, provide an amazing way to express yourself, gain confidence, be part of a team, enjoy yourself, learn a skill and so much more.

Well done to all of you, you were brilliant! Thank you for an evening of smiles and sparkle.
