This week our service was evaluated by Charity for Civil Servants due to the commission we run for them.

In regard to the support we offer clients our score was 82, which is considered to be World Class !!

I couldn't be more humbled, it is a privilege that people let us into their lives at often their most vulnerable point, and I feel proud and thankful for all the people who have helped to develop our service to what it is today and to the Charity for Civil Servants for valuing what we do and trusting us with their clients. Here are just 2 of the comments....

"I am more aware of why I think the way I do and steps I can take to improve or gain further support. It helped me to start my journey to accepting the way I am. Previously when I had accessed support it was with the goal to change the way I am and not be that person anymore because I felt it was wrong or a problem. They are the first people who have said to me its OK to be that way, its OK that things make you anxious or to struggle with change and would then explain to me why I felt this way and how I could support myself. It has changed my life"

"They listen and empathise and signpost me to other useful contacts and services. They go above and beyond to offer additional support to me and my family"

Pleased to have been able to attend Warren Hill Prisons ND conference today, great to have heard from some ND prisoners, staff and partner organisations as well as being able to deliver a sessions ourselves. They are really trying to develop support for the ever growing neurodivergent prison population including the development of a sensory space and happy we will continue to work alongside their team.

"I would like to introduce you to Dr Robert Kerrison and Natalie Gil, who are based at the Cancer Cluster at the University of Surrey.
Rob and Natalie are carrying out research to understand the barriers to early cancer diagnosis, experienced by people with learning disabilities.
They are currently interviewing people with learning disabilities who either have cancer, or have previously been diagnosed with cancer, and are looking for help recruiting people from these populations.
If you think you might be able to help them with their research in anyway, please do get in touch with them by emailing [email protected] or [email protected] "



This is a really important issue they are trying to tackle. We know people with learning disabilities are often diagnosed at a later stage and have poorer survival. They would be really grateful for any help you might be able to provide.

This can be a real problem when encouraging children to try a new activity especially if they are ND. As a provider you can do a lot to help improve this transition and make them feel more settled - give us DM and we can show you how 🙂
