Physical Development in Nursery 💪We have been so busy developing our gross and fine motor skills through a mixture of child-led play, targeted activities and whole class movement activities. Daily opportunities for exploring malleable materials, mark making in a variety of ways and sensory play helps us to build our strength, coordination and physical skills without even realising! Moving our bodies helps us to regulate too. ✨💪🤩

This week, the children were focusing on developing their fine motor skills, so they have been accessing lots of exciting activities designed to strengthen their finger muscles, build coordination and develop their control. It’s been lovely to see them exploring, practising and learning through play! 💕

The children had a fantastic few days working with Chris Open Door Art on our map of Great Ayton. Each class spent time in workshops with Chris looking closely at our local area, identifying familiar landmarks and discussing the places within our community that are important to us.
Through discussion, observation and teamwork, the children developed a greater understanding of what makes Great Ayton such a special place. They enjoyed sharing their local knowledge and learning more about the village they call home.

🎨 We would like to say a huge thank you to Chris from Open Door Art for inspiring our children and helping to develop the artist within every child. His enthusiasm, creativity and encouragement allowed the children to express themselves, explore new ideas and take pride in their artwork over the last few days. We can’t wait to see where our final map takes pride of place in school!

We are so incredibly proud to be part of our amazing community! Open Door Art The Enquire Learning Trust

🌈 Thank You for Supporting Our First Ever Colour Run! 🌈

What an incredible afternoon we have had at Roseberry Academy!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our children, families and staff who helped make our very first Colour Run such a phenomenal success. The event was filled with fun, laughter, colour and smiles from start to finish and it was wonderful to see so many children (and adults!) throwing themselves into the experience with such enthusiasm!

The feedback from families has been overwhelmingly positive and today reminded us of what a special community we are part of here at Roseberry! 💚

While high-quality teaching and learning will always be at the heart of what we do, events like today are equally important. They help create lasting memories, strengthen relationships and give children opportunities to experience joy, teamwork and a real sense of belonging. The sight of hundreds of colourful children running, laughing and encouraging one another across the field is something we won’t forget in a hurry. The smiles on their faces said it all! 😍

Thank you once again for your sponsorship, your encouragement and for embracing the event so wholeheartedly. We are incredibly grateful for the support our families and community continue to show our wonderful school! 💚 The Enquire Learning Trust Enquire Early Years

What a wonderful morning for our children - they loved it!! Thank you to everyone at Great Ayton Tennis Club! We’ll most certainly be back! 🎾👟🌟

🎾 What a day at GATC! ☀️
We were thrilled to welcome 100 pupils from Roseberry School for our biggest junior tennis tournament yet!
Building on our collaboration with North Yorkshire Sport, Development Officer Duncan Burgess helped create the event and trained Roseberry's Year 6 pupils as Sports Leaders. They did a fantastic job running a fun-filled morning of drills and games for every Year 3 and Year 4 child.
With sunshine, packed courts and lots of smiles, it was a brilliant celebration of junior tennis! 🌞🎾
The fun continues this summer with our 4-week Year 3 & 4 Tennis Development Course, and we're excited to build on our partnership with Roseberry School with even more opportunities under discussion from September.
🎾 Want your child to get involved?
There are still places available on our Summer Development Course for Year 3 & 4 pupils. It's a fantastic way to build confidence, learn new skills and make new friends in a fun, welcoming environment.
👉 Can the QR Code, visit our website and head to the Coaching section for full details, or complete our Contact Us form to find out more and book a place.
👏 A huge thank you to Duncan, Roseberry School, the Year 6 Sports Leaders and everyone who made the day such a success!
