This week we've said goodbye to our Big Little Bears 🐻
We are so incredibly proud of you all, and we are certainly going to miss each and every one of you. We know you will all go on to do amazing things.
Thank you for your gorgeous presents and cards, we've been overwhelmed and it has certainly been an incredibly emotional week for Anna, Debs and me.
We hope you all had a fun packed last week, and enjoyed your leavers party 🥳
Miss you all already, good luck at big school and don't forget... you'll always be a Little Bear 🐻❤️

World Earth Day 🌏 What else are we doing to help our amazing planet? 🌏 we have special areas for bugs - and finding them...

World Earth Day 🌏

What else are we doing to help our amazing planet?

🌏 we have special areas for bugs - and finding them is so exciting!
🌏 we have a compost heap, as well as recycle as much as we can for junk modelling, our gluing table, in the home corner and for whatever other genius ideas the children have!
🌏 we want to be more sustainable with our snack, so have just planted some strawberries and we'll soon have some tomatoes, peppers and potatoes growing too! We've also planted some beautiful flowers, we work hard to all take turns to water them.
🌏 we talk about turning off the lights and the tap when we aren't using them, and know that every little helps!
🌏 we try to reuse, recycle and repurpose as much as we can, Anna and Lauri made most of the resources you see outside!
🌏 we learn about foraging and the different plants that we have in our forest. This week we've been collecting wild garlic to use in our mud kitchen

Happy World Earth Day 🌏

One part of our Climate Action Plan at Little Bears has been to look after the amazing nature we have. Throughout the winter we've been feeding the birds which we watch every day. We draw what we see and write all the names, keeping count of the different birds we see like our resident pheasant, blue t**s, robins, blackbirds, great t**s, pigeons, coal t**s, sparrows and even a few cheeky squirrels. I'm sure lots of children can now name lots of birds, and know why its important to feed them over winter.
It's just amazing for the children to experience the wildlife in our garden so close, and a great way to incorporate maths and early literary.
