We were delighted to welcome Thurrock MP - Jen Craft, to our GAPS Thurrock Centre earlier today! 🌟 The centre is dedicated to supporting young people in Thurrock with SEN, and her visit was a fantastic opportunity to showcase what we do.

Our Thurrock learners have done a few activities to celebrate and learn about Black History Month. Here's what they have been up to.

They coloured the flags of different countries and researched facts about each one so they could understand the different cultures, religions and contributions they make to the world.

As well as this, they also picked one black person of significance that they are either inspired by or value their contributions to the world. The learners then created an information piece about their chosen person to provoke a conversation on the impacts that black people have made in society.
