Barry achieves PADI Master Instructor! 🎉🤿

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Barry has just been awarded his PADI Master Instructor rating! 🏆

The PADI Master Instructor rating is a prestigious professional-level achievement that recognises instructors who have demonstrated extensive teaching experience, a strong commitment to diver education and safety, and an ongoing contribution to the diving community. It represents years of dedication, continued professional development and a passion for helping divers progress.

Barry joined the DiveMania instructor team in early 2017, bringing with him a wealth of experience as an instructor and technical diver. He quickly builds rapport with students of all ages and his charisma, fun and professional way of teaching is something our students often remember about their course - it cannot be denied that Barry's teaching is always fun! DiveMania has had the pleasure of seeing him develop further with a number of instructor speciality courses, with Barry seemingly being the unofficial expert for the PADI drysuit and deep courses! For instructor development, Barry has been a key member of the IDC team, helping to develop many of our current instructors and divemasters and sharing his wisdom and broad experience in teaching and diving.

This achievement is a fantastic recognition of the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm he brings to every course — and another milestone in his journey as a dive professional.

Great fun on Saturday at the pool as we had 25 scouts from the 64th & 79th Bushey and Oxhey Groups from Watford South District join us for a Discover Scuba Diving Experience!

There were lots of bubbles, games, fun underwater and excellent skills from everyone!

It was a pleasure to have you all with us, and what a wonderful end to a week at camp!

Our weekly session on Thursday at Blackshots Leisure Centre took place with students continuing on their Open Water courses, alongside some professional training with the Adaptive Techniques Instructor Course!

What a lovely weekend at Gildenburgh Lakes!

Well done to Conor and Megan for their PADI Open Water dives!

Congratulations to Simon for earning his Advanced Open Water!

A big well done to Antoni and Mark for excellent skills throughout their Rescue course!

Lots of exploring and mapping from David on his Wreck course.

We also had Conor earning his Drysuit qualification and Simon perfecting his trim on the Peak Performance Buoyancy course too.

Thank you to Alan for providing surface cover and to Sim, Barry, Paul, Steve, Nathan and Keith for teaching all our students throughout the weekend.

A great time at school on Wednesday for us! We had the pleasure of introducing scuba diving to more than 45 children throughout the day and it was great to see so many happy faces as they took their first breaths underwater.

We had a great day on Saturday at the pool with 17 Discover Scuba Diving participants from 3rd Hatfield Air Scouts.

A great couple of days at Gildenburgh Lakes for our training weekend!

Well done to Simon and Kris achieving their PADI Open Water and Drysuit qualifications.

Congratulations to Rebecca for completing her Advanced Open Water and Drysuit qualification too!

A great effort from Ben and Mike who demonstrated excellent skills from a variety of Deep, Wreck, DSMB, Emergency O2, Search & Recovery, Navigation and Drysuit courses, earning their PADI Speciality Instructor ratings.

We also recognised Simone's IDC Staff Instructor qualification which was completed in the last few weeks too.

A big thank you to all the team in attendance: Paul, Simone, Kayleigh, Steve, Tim and Keith.

A huge THANK YOU in particular to Barry for his hard work, effort and expertise assisting with instructor teaching.

We have our next weekend scheduled for the 11th and 12th July, so do contact if you would like to join.
