E. ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) Consultant/Trainer. I have over 30 years experience in the field of ASD, initially as a Senior Care Worker and Teacher at an NAS (National Autistic Society) school, then Head of Kent County Council’s first Secondary Unit on a mainstream school site, trainer, outreach provider, Autism policy writer (at County level), Assistant Headteacher at a KCC Special School and until recently, as founding Headteacher of a new, independent school for children with ASD. I have attended and contributed to numerous national and international conferences, seminars and training courses, specific to ASD. I have worked with people of all ages and abilities and with parents and all agencies who provide care and education for people who have ASD. I am a founding member of Gravesend, Dartford and Swanley Multi-agency Autism Interest Group, supporting parents of children who have ASD. Now retired from Headship, I remain passionate about helping carers and educators to gain an understanding of people with ASD and therefore, an ability to begin to develop strategies and services to better meet their needs. I am enthusiastic to build on my existing portfolio of work with multi-agency and community groups, established training providers, schools and other senior leaders and to offer training and consultancy to individuals, schools and other groups.
